BTW, an incredibly useful and free program is: Wavepad Sound Editor. Just click download at the top.

Just set it to save wav's as PCM Uncompressed, 22050 Hz, 16 bits, Mono... and you are done. Can save / edit / modify sounds in many other formats as well (mp3, wma, m4a, etc).

Why don't you just use the Windows Audiorecorder? Btw, it doesn't matter if it's mono or stereo, it's just the sample and bit rate that's important.

Well with Windows Vista they removed the Audiorecorder, but if eric A has Windows XP or older he can use Audiorecorder.

Tom I use Wavepad on some of my conversions. I like that program.
