Well, depends what we find on the mainland, but this could be a possibility. No, B is a very good commerce city. We should definitely settle it before going to the mainland.
Hmm, this is a fairly good argument. B will be good for utilizing those flood plains earlier. And C would definitely be a very good candidate for the Moai Statues.C will not want the floodplains or gold later because it will be working the plains hill, focusing 100% on production. And probably building the Moai Statues at some point, allowing it to work all the coast for production without needing the gold or floodplains.
Excellent. So we'll have The Wheel next turn, then Bronze Working in a couple more turns.Nothing to see here. Switched back to The Wheel because we need it in two turns (leaving a turn's leeway for safety).
Just went to see the game.
A new tech to choose and I had to do it (BW) because I couldn't leave the game without.
That's the one we wanted, so no worries.Just went to see the game.

Yep.Edit: Scratch that - our score did increase by teching The Wheel.
Yes, the Palace is giving us the 14 points. And as Azz says, our land won't count for score until turn 20. (Odd system, I know, but that's how it works.)Gold Mine is DONE! Woohoo! There's gold in them thar hills! 1 more turn to city pop to 2. I also included our score analysis to see what were getting points for. We get 0 for land but 14 for wonders?! Is that because of our Palace?
Should be very easy to work out by testing. I can do so later today, if someone hasn't done so already. Either way, I'm sure we'll get it in time for our chops.I was also trying to figure out how quickly we will tech BW after our city pop comes and we can work that gold. I think in the next turn it will be 4 more turns with the gold being worked for BW.

Hmm, interesting... I can't see many situations in which this could have been abused, though, apart from perhaps a few ladder games. And you still get the points from pop for any new cities immediately...I think it was changed to this around the time of Warlods to prevent large scale settling of cities on the turn of victory giving a massive score increase.

Yeah, but how many maps are there where you could get away with that? Certainly it'd be extremely tricky on anything but the smallest maps. Most likely most of the world would be settled by the point at which you could do this, so you'd have to go on a razing spree before plopping down a whole lot of Settlers at once.Actually I could, if all youhave to do is spam Settlers at some point and just settle like crazy. This way it gives others time to stop another from getting Domination victory.
The score increase is nice. I like seeing us way out in the lead in GNP now, even if it's probably only temporary. Checked into the game myself, all looks good with the Worker, and he should be set to move to the Gold next turn.Sirius has grown to 2 population and is working the Gold and the coastal Fish. Our score increased to 68:
I moved the Warrior (Ceres) 1W to the Silk tile and he's currently in Sentry mode. I moved the Worker (Lord Parkin) 1 NE from the W Gold hill. I started building a road on that tile with the rest of his movement, and immediately canceled that order. On the next turn (21), he'll move 2 NE to the N Gold hill.
