And if you don't like angels, but woman with swords, fear no more. There is also the option to make her a mortal like most of us: ;)

But of course there is a small hook. This unit is a converted model from Atlantica Online, thus it has rather high demands concerning polycount and .dds file size. More information are given in the download section.

Like the leaderheads Female Ranger and Cleopatra this unit is made from an Atlantica Online model. The model itself can be extracted rather easy from that game, you read more about that in the Female Ranger thread. Converting it to a unit however takes some work, at least if you want to have the unit a reasonable polycount. The original models have a polycount of about 6000 triangle. Beside manual combining of triangles I used the Blender script 'Poly Reducer' for this. After that, I had to give the model a new weight map and made some further smaller modifications.
I also added a wing animation via NifSkope to the used japanesesamurai animations to test how this procedure works. It has not much of an effect on the unit appearance, but now I'm a bit smarter about animation modifications. ;)
I hope you'll have fun with the unit. :)

Amazingly beautiful! She needs a good spot in Fairy Tale. I'll even make her a national hero for one of the nations. I have a nation of amazons who also have a unit called "The Death Angel", but I have never been pleased with her model, since it's one of my own reskins. So this your angel comes like a letter in the postbox! Perfect.

Wow! You're really keeping it up, SaibotLeih.

Edit: I pasted her into my mod now. I must say, SaibotLeih, that this is the most beautiful unit I have ever seen. I can appreciate the polycount and detail, but this unit is really worth it! She's amazing.

I'm glad you like her and have already found good use for her. :) She is indeed beautiful, wish I could claim the praises for that. ;)
And your images are great as always. I'm still to lazy to work with the flying camera. :mischief:
:goodjob: nice unit, well chosen.
Thanks. She gave me quite some work, but I think in the end it's worth the result. :)

Nice conversion saibotleih.:goodjob: Something tells me that these conversions will also work well in Civ5.

I thought that the units in Civ5 will be rather small in normal view. Therefore I guess all Civ4 models could work. We'll be all smarter when the game is released I'm sure. ;) However, the AO models could be quite suitable for convertion to Civ5 leader(heads).
WOW, keep converting these!!!
I think that won't be the last AO model I'll convert. ;)

I've heard that you'll be able to zoom in on the troops in Civ5 so far that you can see the uniform buttons! But don't take my word for it, for it's just something I've heard somewhere and can't remember where. The idea of that is really thrilling though.

I'll be looking forward to more conversions of this kind!

'sup saibot
I just came here to show you how the unit looks like in my game.
It is made for the amazon civ I have:goodjob:

That's good to hear.

Did you change her hair color for a second unit to blond or is that just some reflection effect?

I changed her color to make a second blonde unit. And if you look closer, her lips have a more redish tone and she has purple eyeshadow  I needed a decent-looking pikewoman but there are none so that is her replacement. I had to find a way to make them look different than the swordswomen. I was planning on changing the color of the dress, but then I though the hair was good enough difference.

Thanks to The_Coyote I now have the ability to shader units. The first unit I tested this on is the Angelic Swordswoman, and the results are quite satisfying. :) Although it can't be seen that well in a still picture, here is one: ;)

left: noshader, right: shader

The shadered units is now included in the download file.

In fact, The_Coyote already sent me a shadered version of that unit, but he had to rearrange most of the .dds files which lead to some losses in the quality. My version works with more meshes, but less changes in the art files (only body_256.dds had to be changed a little bit). None the less that unit helped me a great deal in learning to shader. Thanks again for it as well as for the explanation, The_Coyote. :thanx:

Well, now I'll have to revise all my other units, too... :(

But it's worth the result. :D

Good job!:goodjob: When I had just started making leaderheads I tried to experiment with adding shaders to units. I made and assigned a norm. file to the infantry unit and tested it out, and it didn't work. Glad to see that someone got it to work.

Blimey. That's a significant improvement. I'll change the one in my mod to the latest and try it out then. Good job.
