Turn Discussion Thread

enterprise should be moving 1 tile west and then upgrade.
after this go to AC take there a mace or 2 and go Mavericks land, the maces from Bode should go west also. For this Pallas should go to Vega.
For military we needs cats more than maces.

I would like to whip the mace in Arc this turn, to get then 94/70 :hammers: and additional 16 with working no forest (the additional :hammers: in overlay is rounded/lost) but river green to get overlay of 40 : 1.25 = 32, next turn the mine is ready to get, then we get 3:food: and grow in 4 turns.

I think were going to need more then two Macemen. I thought there was already a proposal of 4 cats and 4 macemen at least?

1 East indian is needed as ferry to Bode, the other can take units to mav.
at expedition corps we need at least 8 units, maces, cats and 1 spearman against horse-units. here is the clear disadvantage/wrongness of "declare war", we have no info about their ress.
the units goes at AC onboard and 2 turns later they can go onboard at south of Vega.

Alpha
Enterprise should take 2 from Sol and 2 from Bode also on his way to the sea south of Bode ( we should name it)

Well we are sending the Caraval now so we should be able to get our reconosance done finally.

In canopus we don't use a 3 :hammers: tile (later 4 with mine), because we need some food. in the moment at pop 6 1 :food: has value of 1.8 netto :hammers: with whip, I would build a light to get +2 :food: there and then whip every 10 turns.

Diplomats
We need health, with the chop of silkforest we lost 1 in AC and in Canopus.

HUSch, I just want to make sure I understand you correctly:

I agree about cats, but are you suggesting we send a East Indiaman with a few maces to Mavericks territory now? If so, for what purpose? I think we should wait until we have some cats built before sending units.

So, whip Arcturus this turn with this tile assignment:

Then work the new mine next turn. Is that right?

So build a light house in Canopus now with the hammers from the chop?

Why are we whipping Arcturus when the Maceman will be out in 1 turn? Is the overflow taken in to affect with the +25% forge?

We need one east Indian south of Vega, this should be enterprise, the other eastindian is needed as ferry. 4 maces is nothing against an amount of cats,
So, whip Arcturus this turn with this tile assignment:
No, after whip, we 've pop 6 and we make then as best 17 or 16 :hammers:, in both we get the same overlay, also it's good when the 6. citizen get 2 :food: and 1 :commerce:, like in this pic

Yes.
My fighting/combat ability is low, if someone makes a plan it would be better.

Well Mariner will get us the reconosannce that we need on the Maverick Island. We should go with the 2 EastIndian with 4 Mace and 4 cats. We should have no problems taking at least half the island if not all of it. Again we need to know how many cities and what they have on it.

I would also suggest first taking their capital and their holy cities next. I know they have Hindu and Judaism.

EDIT: Actually I have a good idea, why not do 2 Mace and 2 Cats in both ships that way we can target two cities at once. Hopefully taking out half their captial island in a very short amount of time.

Then build some back up Mace to come in.

We are whipping, because we 've not enough good tiles there, we grow then in 4 turns with working the new mine (then we 've perhaps the next mine). The overlay is 40 :1,25 = 32 and with mine we have 16 netto :hammers: together 48 *1.25 =60. That is the reason, I say about working the river greenland.

There is a mistake in the game, the gain of the forest near Canopus went to AC.
We 've there now overlay 3, chop gain 30, we need also 11 to get the best value. I 've changed silk to forest to get this. A lighthouse there would be good, but not so important like in Canopus or a new unit, in the moment mace.

Should I start a thread for Battle strategy and plans?

I don't really think that's necessary, since most of the decisions could be discussed here or in the diplomacy or espionage threads. I prefer too keep most of the discussion here actually: less looking around.

BTW - Quatronia are researching HBR with the slider up now.

Thanks for looking at the tiles in Canopus/AC, HUSch.

Edit: The new worker in Rigel cottages the FPs, right?

I'm actually thinking that with 99 pages it's easy to lose stuff and have a hard time finding things. But if it makes it easier we can leave strategic pics in the Espionage thread.

I brought it up because I think my idea for strategy got overlooked. I was proposing an idea to split up the Cats and Mace so there can be 2 of each in each boat. Allowing us to attack two cities seperatly.

Hmm... Since I can't recall the plan you are talking about, maybe a new thread isn't a bad idea. :) I would just like turn-specific battle decisions/instructions to stay in this thread.

OK - I understand the tile assignments after whipping now. Thanks!

My fighting/combat ability is low, if someone makes a plan it would be better.

I have no experience fighting human opponents, but do OK in SP games. Maybe somebody whose played the Pitboss games can offer advice.

EDIT: Actually I have a good idea, why not do 2 Mace and 2 Cats in both ships that way we can target two cities at once. Hopefully taking out half their captial island in a very short amount of time.

I think we are going to need more than 2 cats and 2 maces per city. Remember that they've built some wonders, so there will be a lot of cultural defense to take down.

I'll play the turn in about 8-10 hours. The new worker will cottage the FP in Rigel, I will whip the mace in Arcturus, and I will upgrade Enterprise to an East Indiaman and head toward AC, unless anyone has other suggestions.

Update: I also asked CDZ what they were researching. Apparently, Divine Right.

You must move enterprise 1 tile before upgrade, units must 've a moving point to upgrade and can't move after.

Turn 111 - 100 BC

Quatronia offered us this deal, which I accepted for the health benefits:

Civ4ScreenShot0365.jpg

Update: per Irgy's earlier recommendation, I offered fish to Amazon for deer and to CDZ for crabs. This should address our health concerns for a while.

Alpha Centauri finished it's forge, and is now building a maceman. Canopus changed builds to put a lighthouse at the front of the queue so it can work more tiles.

The new worker at Rigel started a cottage, and Enterprise was upgraded to an East Indiaman.

On Bode, hell hound moved to the pigs tile in Procyon via the newly completed road, and AlphaShard began chopping the jungle.

We whipped a maceman in Arcturus:

A new turn is up and stuff is happening:

First we got this message/proposal from Amazon:

Civ4ScreenShot0370.jpg

Since they are our treaty allies, they claimed it was urgent, and it was less than a turn's worth of research in gold equivalent, I unilaterally made the decision to agree to this. Feel free to voice your displeasure, if applicable. They also accepted our fish-for-deer trade (unsurprisingly).

We finished the missionary in Vega, I picked a maceman as the next build. Any other preferences?

A barb galley spawned near Vega! Enterprise should be able to get there in time to protect the clams:

Mariner is approaching the Mavericks home island. I used 2 of it's 3 movement points. Should we move S (out of galley/trireme range) or SE (reveals more tiles) or somewhere else with the last one?

Sirius has grown to size 11. Tile assignments OK?
