I have been wondering the same considering the number of people claiming to PM me only for the PMs never to reach me :p
Still waiting on that PM from the Farow.

Most of the update has, however, been written, so it'll be up in a couple of hours if all goes as planned.

Sending Orders again since I deleted them on accident.

I could have sworn I sent it to Harleqin but you never know with me :)

UPDATE 8 - 660 AF

As an age draws to an end, unbeknownst of course to the people of the world, but later considered the end of an age by scholars, the Tribunal consolidated their position by continuing focus on their army. Some minor expansion was gained southwards, but otherwise things were quiet. Some have called it the calm before the storm, but is it truly? Time will soon tell us.

The Tiestans continue their suppression of the neighbouring tribes, deciding to focus mainly on the most civilised of them and, according to them, the most dangerous. The poor southern tribes never stood a chance as the Tiestan army poured over the border, not only outnumbering the defenders, but also having much better equipment, leadership and training. The Tiestan Empire has grown strong and looks set for a bright future.

Imperia is also looking for expansion, growing the army rapidly once again. This gives them arguably the strongest military in the lands and know it. Using it aggressively they forcibly expand toward and around Simil looking to completely isolate the nation. This achieves an overwhelming success as the inhabitants of the lands flee in terror at the size of the force. The Imperial goal is achieved, but has an unusual side-effect in that many of the displaced barbarians have joined up with the Similian military.

Syldavia continues its military buildup.

Having successfully completed one war, Dashtaka turns to more peaceful pursuits… or so it seems. Increasing taxes heavily to increase the economic assets at their availability, Dashtaka manages to raise an impressive sum of money.
First some of the funds are put into the completion of the massive Arena sparking off massive celebrations as games are held to entertain the population and make them forget how strained their economic spending has just become.
The games have barely ended when the old king Tzrah dies of old age and is succeeded by his son Krazh. Of course this calls for new games to be held in honour of the old king and the new.
The new King Krazh soon proves that he is indeed his father’s son, but more than that he is also his own man… and contains ambitions. His father built the massive Arena and not wanting to be outdone he sets his sight on assuring his own place in history.
One morning, completely out of the blue, a Dashtakan force lands in the Almegan capital of Capitalia and overwhelms the local garrison with only a few losses. Taking the Almegan government prisoner they ask for the surrender of Almega. Having a small Dashtakan army watching over them they quickly agree that maybe surrender is not such a bad idea, a sentiment heartily supported by the frightened Almegan High Priest.
The Almegan army, on the other hand, does not agree with this and renounces the leadership in Capitalia as acting only out of selfish fears of being executed. Declaring that they’ll defend the people of Almega they pull back to more defensive positions and prepare to meet the Dashtakan army head on.
The first battles take place at sea. Outnumbered 3:1 the Almegan navy has no chance against the Dashtakans and naval supremacy is quickly gained allowing the invading army to cross the river at their leisure.
Knowing that the northern Almegan city of Vela is an important prize to gain, the two armies both move toward it seeking to respective conquer and defend it. Numerically the Dashtakans have the advantage as they can bring most of their army to bear on it whereas the Almegans have to defend a large territory, however, the walls of the city evens out the odds. Rather than waste the lives of his troops in an assault the city is surrounded and put under siege. As food starts running low the Almegan situation deteriorates rapidly and since desperate times call for desperate plans the city commander orders the army to attempt a breakout. It is a good idea and one that could devastate the Dashtakan army… if reinforcements had come. As it was the attack started well with a proverbial hammerblow striking at the weakest link of the besieging army. Eventually, the Dashtakans managed to regroup and as the archers started raining down arrows the Almegan attack was halted and then routed. With the army fleeing the field the city soon surrendered.
With most of the Almegan army defeated the remains vanished into the wilderness without a trace leaving all of Almega in Dashtakan hands.
(Dashtaka: -many troops. –Almega)

North of Dashtaka a new nation, Th'Lex-Zamrezei, has risen from out of nowhere. Founded in part by barbarians fleeing the Dashtakan and Tiestan expansion they settled their capital city on a high hill in order to give them a good advantage, should they ever come under attack. Claiming the lands around them they have gotten of to a good start, though they are still weak compared to many of the more established nations. Whether they will become more than a footnote in history is yet to be seen.
The leader orders the constructing of archers on horseback causing lots of confusing amongst the military leadership. The confusing is pretty well summed up by the question from a general: “What’s a horse archer?” While they do have horses, this concept is quite unheard of as they have never really been used for anything else than carrying messengers. Eventually, some brave lads practice and at least learn how to ride the horses.
Apart from this troublesome matter they also sent missionaries south in order to start to spread the Th'Lex Guidance to Dashtaka. The missionaries meet with only minor success as most couldn’t care less about this barbaric religion, but a minor number of converts is achieved.

Considering all this warfare, things are much more peaceful in Ironal Mar. Whilst they also expand, they do it in a slightly different way doing what they call commercial expansion instead. Increasing their already high production of tradegoods they literally flood the Spret and Karakan markets with Ironalian goods. This creates a massive boost for them as the local population eagerly buys the higher quality Ironalian goods rather than the expensive local produce. This does have the unfortunate side-effect of both the Karakan and Spret economies coming under heavy pressure which in turn makes the leadership of the two nations cast evil eyes toward Ironal Mar. The population is happy though, so nothing has happened other than some strained relations.

Calador also assumes a more defensive state as they look worriedly to the south. Some minor expansion does take place northwards though. All in all, it is a quiet time for Calador as they focus on internal development.

Cironelle continues it peaceful focus on internal development.

After years of war Ibe consolidates for a while, whilst building up the army and training the leaders in new tactics.

Mearlekrol, Zhuba and Bateria all engage local barbarian chiefdoms and suppress them. Siberia launches an all-out attack on Catar and conquers them.

Story bonuses:
Ibe: +1 loyalty

Comments from the MOD:
We are moving to a BT section now. I’ll start work on it tomorrow and would like your orders as soon as you can manage. Deadline is not until next Friday, September 1st at 18,00 CET though.
For those who are unsure of what it is, a BT is a longer period of mainly quiet growth. Your orders should state what direction your nation will be developing in and what kind of policies your nation will be pursuing (domestic and foreign). I’d also like you to give me a short description as to what kind of nation it is so I can use it for the nation backgrounds. When we resume we’ll be at a point of time close to the time of the First Punic War in OTL. This means it is perfectly viable to base your nation’s development on that of ancient Rome, Egypt, Athens, Sparta, Persia etc or something you make up yourself.
I’ll be changing the rules a bit to make them simpler. They will be very similar to those in DisNes, but with a few differences.
I’ll need to make some new nations, so all players who include two names for nations (which may or may not be used) will get some kind of minor bonus ;)

Map of the way things are before the BT.
