CHILE ELECTIONS. Santiago, Chile. The predominant topic in this years elections in Chile was the Moderate Partys agreement to join the Socialist International Cooperative Group. This led to a quick split in the party as the wealthy and middle class rallied around the reforged Conservative Party, who has played off German victories in La Plata to organize a front against socialism. However, they failed to secure the majority they needed, despite heartedly dividing Chilean politics. The nations Socialist Party won out in the end, due to major lower class voter turn out. The new government has reaffirmed ties with the La Plata Republic and Socialist Union of South America. Still, conservatives claim that the socialists worked to rig the elections in their favor, attempting to bring Chile into the Red blight of communism. (-2 Stability)
