Update IV
Year 1754
Pacific American Dream?
The past few years the Pacific American Company has expanded greatly beyond it’s original plans and has become a dominate power in the Pacific north-east in the process. Growing farther away from the Russian crown and more independent. This brings great worry to the Tsar as the company is a huge and irreplaceable component to the Empire. The current president of the company Alexey Grigoryevich Orlov pays little mind to the Tsar’s complaints. It is now known to the peoples of the Company and the people living in its lands that all debts have been repaid and the company has enough of a military to stop any half witted attempt of a Russian attack against them. It seems that soon the company may break away entirely as the population and economy boom. The passing of a Homestead Act by Alexey has allowed thousands and thousands of Chinese, Japanese and European immigrants to come and gain land for basically nothing. Not to mention the huge influx of peoples and gold during the last years gold rush which still lingers as new gold veins are uncovered in the mountains to the east of New Tver. This brought about a large amount of crime and corruption in the New Norway areas as gold usually does. Alexey cracked-down on this heavily and brought a huge relief to the people in the region. Some even were under organized crime like control, but no longer.

The Incan Revival
With recent educational programs and a now full alliance with Portugal. The Inca seem to be in a modern golden age of sorts. For centuries they feared safety against the Europeans; now they know some are willing to help. Trade with Japan opens as a steady increase in the naval power of the Inca military gives them the option to sail out to seek better trade. But not often as they have not the shipping capabilities of the Europeans. To deal with this the Incan government begins a cooperation project with Portugal to modernize the country at a steady pace so they can defend themselves and seek trade with whomever they want. Keeping a friendly portion of the trade for the Portuguese of course.
A Tale of Two Frances
As the French war carried on in 1754 so did the vultures hover around it looking in. Almost to easy was it now to step in and crush one of the two. Burgundy had hoped for aid from Britain and Norsemen but the UoN failed to make preparations for the war against Aquitaine and Britain had other plans. In secret as always talks with Hanover began. Burgundy was at it’s weakest and the had little defense in the low countries region as it tried to defend itself from the Aquitaine armies. On the other side Aquitaine had most of its army in central France fighting heavily with the remaining Burgundians. Leaving the coastal regions quite open indeed. The decision proved so hard as to whom the King would help that he flipped a coin. Rumor has it the coin landed standing straight up. And so nothing less than all of France would be under invasion by the Britons. Hanover would attack the severely weakened Burgundians and the Britain the Aquitaine home and colonial lands.
The invasion began in the low countries as the Hanoverian armies, newly equipped and rested from victories over the Dutch, marched relentlessly through the countryside and defeated the small garrisons on the way. They won the hearts of the people by supplying them with bread as the war had nearly starved the population in the last year. This led to the easy locating and flanking of the small resistance armies they encountered. The heavy fighting was saved until the reach of the current frontline of the French war as both Aquitaine and Burgundy forces were surprised by the large army. Burgundian soldiers thought help had arrived until the cannon and musket fire slaughtered them where they stood. Aquitaine then thought the same about help. But as the Hanoverians prepared to attack them word came of a large British army having captured the capital in the south and marched through the supply lines like they were nothing.
What followed was the three way battle of Dijon. Burgundy vs. Hanover vs. Aquitaine. Neither side helping the other in what seemed like the largest scale battle of this type ever. There was no end to the bloodshed. Burgundy managed to hold the capital only after the defeat and retreat of the Aquitaine army. Hanover still sieges the capital as the British finish off what is left of the two countries armed forces.
The Venetian front to is pushed back into Aquitaine lands as they retreat the Venetians, having defended for two years, push forward killing all they can to revenge the horrible winter they had to endure.
The Aquitaine colonies fell easier than the homeland as not much of a colonial defense was there. The British however had no reason to capture the entire regions at all. Only the major port cities which the remnants of the Aquitaine fleet might use to start a fight back. The colonists to fight the British off in small numbers as rag-tag minutemen. No large casualties are lost on either side in this pitiful fighting.

Fall of the Roman Empire
After sneak attacking the Italian Greek province in the years previous to gain a strong foot hold to rebuilding the dieing Empire. The Romans had thought to be invincible. They hadn’t counted on two things. The Italians invading to regain former lands, and the invasion from the Turks as a cooperation with the Italians. At first this was not planned by the Italians at all but once they realized the possibility of using the Turks to defeat the enemy of theirs it was decided as the final choice. As it turned out most of the fighting was handled by the Turks as the Romans took everything they could to keep Constantinople safe from their hands. Hundreds of thousands died on both sides in the invasion while the Italians marched in and with help of former citizens of their Republic simply occupied the lands. Very little fighting took place at all. Only one division of the Roman Army was in Greece at the time and it quickly surrendered without a major battle. However the huge battle for the Bosporus raged the entire year. The emperor of the Romans committed suicide instead of be captured by the Turks as they, now very angry and hateful of all Christians, marched into the city and burned it down. More people died than should have in the resulting fire. The once grand city was now ashes and the smoke raised from its burning palace district as the Turks had their evening prayers. Fearful of the Islamic soldiers most fled into Bulgaria. It is unknown whether the Russians and Polish will step in to fight the Ottomans at this time according to previous treaties.

The Hungarian Blunder
The now 4 year war between the HRE and Hungary continues to rage on with heavy casualties. Both nations tired of the fighting and steadily running out of fresh men and supplies. The Hungarians in this crucial time tried something desperate. A flanking maneuver to the North again. It still being early in the year the snow was still falling and the Hungarians came into another problem. The HRE armies thought the same but a few dozen miles farther east. The result became known to the men as the Hungarian Blunder. The HRE troops realized that they had cut off the Hungarians and the resulting battle was not in the favor of the supply less troops. A forced surrender was needed to save their lives. For the first time in the entire war the Holy Romans has the advantage. They had forced half of the remaining Hungarians to surrender by accident. But they would never dare say it was an accident to the Hungarians. Totally went as planned.
With half the army in the hands of the Holy Romans. The Hungarians had no choice but to hold a ceasefire and begin talks of a treaty. With the treaty still months away the Hungarians were forced to leave Bohemia and the HRE and wait out its decision. This was perhaps the greatest blunder in history so far. As the winners of the war lost it all in one operation. It is still doubted that Bohemia will be given to the HRE but one thing is for sure. The war is currently on even grounds.

The End of Carlists in Spain
Ferdinand was swift in his signing of peace and rebuilding plans. The army was sent out to smash Carlos supporters throughout the country. They soon had restored order and the people praised him for his lower taxes even in the rebuilding time. Using some of his own money to rebuild cities and educational facilities. He sells some pretty unused and useless islands to Japan to help fund the rebuilding. Keeping one for the Kingdom as a trading outpost. The people saw no need for the islands and saluted his ideas.
The Portuguese Empire…still at it
The Living and Education standards of the country are steadily on the rise as the income from the colonies allows more freedom in building new improvements for the country. The colonies themselves have expanded vastly and the country now rivals both the Norsemen and Britain for the top spot. Modernization aid to China and Inca gains friends in both countries.
Economic gains of Georgia
The country has been building a lot towards the economy and military lately and it pays off as the capital becomes a center of trade.

Frederick and the Chinese Emperor
The past couple of years for China have been full of construction and research as they try to keep up with rivals across the sea in Japan. Construction of the defense system and economic expansion like the Empire has never seen before. The later is continued into 1754 and several major cities and built up for new trade and population booms giving six new economic centers. Making the Chinese economy strong as some Europeans. The navy is being built but the training and quality of the ships and sailors are low at this time. Frederick wishes to change that as time goes on. The continued research of scientists for new guns and cannons and other forms of weaponry remains secret but goes well. The military itself is trained in the arts of European marching and combat strategies.
However a problem does arrive in the vassals of the Emperor. Siam and Nam-Viet have a large anti-Chinese rebellion starting under them. They have so far been unable to contain it. This rebellion is due to the modernization of China and the Emperors liking of foreign advisors. Frederick has asked permission to go down and stop this rebellion himself but the Emperor will not allow his greatest advisor to go into combat yet. No doubt the rebellion will be dealt wit, with much force in the coming year.
A New Age for the Japanese
The last few years have been those of great educational increases in Japan and finally all that hard work has paid off as they reach the late enlightenment age of technology. Quickly rising to the ranks of the Europeans. But many years remain before that can be achieved. They purchased the island holdings of the Spanish to the dismay of the Chinese Emperor and they now control a large amount of trade in the Pacific because of it. The hatred between the two countries may soon spark war.
