Earth map with preset civilizations

Well there's some conflicting data in that txt file.
Selassie has become an Ethiopian leader, Abyssian civilization no longer exists.
Adjusting it to Ethiopian or just cutting him out of the file should fix the getting defeat on start

Could I kindly ask some good-willing soul to post here the old Standard-Earth map compatible with AND 1.75?
The fact is, I'm totally scared by the idea or running a huge map. I usually play small ones and I have enough random CtD as for not being interested in MAFs too.
But really I love this mod and I loved playing this standard earth map :)
A big thank you in advance.

P.s. the version with 12 civs would be great, not really in need of the 31 civs or more version... that one runs too slowly, and the less civs one also makes Revolution quite useful.

here they are ! i just edited the code to be able to launch them, and played two/three turns on each. it works AFAIK. I changed both 12 and 23 civs maps. I'll edit them further as I playtest, but please tell if anything else has to be changed.

Wonderful! A huge thanksto you ;)

Nice timing too, I was just ready for a new game. I'll get into "testing" right ahead hehe.

Two quick first things: China has a small area between Sicily and Tunisia revealed on game start; and chinese Archer uses both icon, artstyle and animations of chinese longbowman, but I doubt this may depend on the map - or maybe not? EDIT: now that I think about this it has to be a new flavour bug. There's no way the map might have anthing to do.

Gotta have to play many times with many civs to find out if anything else is wrong... :o

EDIT: And for the rest, minor nuisances such as the one above sure are little thing most inoffensive, it's really nice to have the standard earth anyway.

I've updated my map; I didn't notice when I uploaded that I left my name as a leader of Arabs and that there was an egyptian settler in south america. Now everything should be ok, you can find the new file here:

Ive played my first game using this map and Ive found a few things that seem to be missing from the normal AND gameplay.

1. Cant build CIV specific units in captured cities.
2. No storms in Ocean tiles.
3. No 3 tile city radius.
4. No special terrain (like marsh and bog for example).

I may be doing something wrong and that is why Im finding these issues, my apologies if this is the case. And thanks for taking the time to make the map. What do you think about these items, assuming they are real?

You have to select custom game/scenario and check the box in the options to enable these features.

Well, regarding problems 1, 2 and 3 NBAfan already answered you. It's only a matter of custom settings you need to choose at the start of the game. As for problem 4, I've made no modification to the original GEM map so there's plenty of marsh, bog and everything else (check for example in Russia, try using worldbuilder if you want to see it); maybe you only haven't seen it because there's none in the original map in the part of the world you're currently in. Happy new year everyone! :D

Hi all,

Anyone have a status on these maps... several of the filefront links are broken. Has anyone played with these maps on the latest revision of AND?

Thanks!

Im working on a Pre-Columbian GEM for AND2 with cool new C2C civ flags, its pretty much done there are just a couple of civs that refuse to work. I'll post it up when im done.

Ok here we go, https://mega.co.nz/#!kNNjyIaA!Xb8BAS-Xvdgs5h_F-nX9l0vw9VhpPqvlOgCK9f8btsI
It is big because it includes new flags and art styles for the civs. I also included some minor trait tweaks and I included my user settings folder too. The map won't work without the art-styles and flags. Just extract into your AND folder.

Because of the new art-stles (credit goes to zulu's modpack http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=378141) it causes AND2 to take longer to start, so just be patient and read forums while u wait ;)

To play it use 'custom scenario' - the default settings for the map are all blank so u need to customize it to how u like to play, therefore don't just go - play scenario.

Hmm, the start placement for korea seems to be slightly bugged, i will need to get someone to look at it, but in the mean time this is still usable.
I will probably make a simple version of the at some stage too, without new civ flags & without zulu's art modifications.

Fixed all the issues - 29 starting civs now https://mega.co.nz/#!4M0QjBqQ!UXGtwnW8BuqGcN1XodAOmSyvcqMlFhAetQFOy7uTMxA
put this in privatemaps folders inside rise of mankind - a new dawn folder.

You need all the art stuff though to run it which I uploaded here https://mega.co.nz/#!kNNjyIaA!Xb8BAS-Xvdgs5h_F-nX9l0vw9VhpPqvlOgCK9f8btsI however you need to replace the GEM 30 map with the one I just mentioned and uploaded here https://mega.co.nz/#!4M0QjBqQ!UXGtwnW8BuqGcN1XodAOmSyvcqMlFhAetQFOy7uTMxA

Ill still at some point make a vanilla version without the art stuff

Ok I made stand-alone version without zulu's unit modpack and without my user settings and stuff;
So its just the map + some new c2c civ flags. It doesn't overwrite anything don't worry.

Just extract in your "Rise of mankind - A New Dawn" folder

Let me know if u come across any oddities such as weird looking flags or if you think a civs color should be changed - stuff like that. I don't think there are any other concerns apart from these two factors, but let me know if there is, cheers.

I'm also disappointed by the lack of a preset Earth map in AND. I have this issue in Civ4 where I can only play on the Earth maps. It's just the only way to play the game that makes sense. Or whatever. Anyways, can someone make a simple Earth 18 like the one packaged with default RoM? Keep it to Huge. I can't seem to get the maps that have been posted in this thread to work. They don't appear in the Custom Scenarios when I put the files in PrivateMaps. Not sure if I'm even doing it correctly.

Off topic, does anyone have a list of the songs that play randomly in the Transhuman-Future era? I heard a few pretty cool ones.

Thanks man, good to hear. 18 civs correct? I can settle with a few more, but I doubt my computer would be able to run 30+ civs. Also could anyone help me with custom maps not appearing in the custom scenarios in AND? They appear in standard RoM and Vanilla BTS, not in AND for some reason.

There is a folder inside the AND folder called PrivateMaps - put AND maps in there.

Right, that's exactly where I put them. But ingame, they are no where to be found under the scenarios. I can load the map by simply clicking on the map file but then I can't select my options and other RoM features. It boots the map up under "Play Scenario", not "Custom Scenario" like I would want it to.
