The plan I posted earlier was full, as in included everything I did in the 2nd attempt, which produced fastest mids with the least chops. Up until settling of fish city, that is. We could play on now until that, it's only 6 turns. Maybe something happens during those turns that forces us to adjust plan. Otherwise I can after that work out what I did in the next 13 turns until stone was settled.

I have a save from the turn stone was settled in my fastest test, so I'll just try to match that and post micro later. But there's also still a couple of alternatives I'd like to test for those turns, so it might change...

yyeah, most of the stuff in that screenshot comes later than these first 6 turns. These are the only relevant worker builds for now:

The main differences between your 2 plan seems to be Yyeah has a road going down south. Does that work better? Remember if the settler crosses a river it loses a full mp.

On test game I went 1s, sw,sw and back north. Does going by pigs help more? Do we want to speed up stone and fish settler?

Take 3 attached. 900BC mids with only 2 chops, best so far. All plans can be improved. :) Main difference was that I delayed stone one turn and adjusted some micro. Delaying stone also freed up a ton of worker turns, the road down south were just to get 6th warrior back to cap in time. Didn't quite know what to do with these worker turns. Just built some unnecessary roads here, we can think of something better in real game. Like prechopping.

I also checked in worldbuilder that no more AI had any techs we were researching than in real game, so no extra research bonuses.

Next 6 turns, until fish is settled, are still the same as plan posted earlier.

Going by pigs we can keep settler within borders until the turn he settles (settle 2nd turn). Your way speeds up stone settler, but also risk that some barb prevents settler from going where we want him the turn before settling.

I didn't test speeding up stone settler this way, but I just improved mids date by one turn by delaying stone, so not sure if I want to test this. :crazyeye:

If we can get the mids in Rome with only 2 chops, I would be for that. I don't see the reason to build it in fish city, other than to save the forests, and even then only 2 forests isn't that big of deal. Forests can regrow, so we can try to chop the forests that border multiple forests to increase the chance of regrowth. Mids in Rome is a building, and counts for the wonder count. Remember we need 7. I would hate to have to go for a wonder after the Taj, as there isn't too many before we get to later expensive techs, like Democracy for SoL.

Okay, tested the other road option, works well. So go ahead and road like in your picture, not pigs (Settler moves S-SW-SW-NW).

I'm fine with you playing 6 turns until settling of fish city and so far I haven't seen anyone seriously objecting to this... We need to get this game moving, there will be more hard decisions coming up. So green for playing until fish from me.

To unpause, press pause button. But: Make sure you haven't done anything after loading the game before unpausing!! Any moves done in pause mode will be automatically executed when you unpause. Always load save before unpausing.

And remember: Stop, take screenshot, upload save and screenshot before settling city. Admins will want to see proof that we met the conditions for settling.

@Shulec: In test game there are no exploring workboats out at this point of the game, nobody builds them until much later. By the time I built mids there was no barb galleys on the map, even though I made sure all AI (and myself) had sailing 20 turns before that. So far way too early to tell if we have AI within reach before astro, and our exploring workboats should be safe for quite a while.

Edit: that barb warrior can mean trouble... if he is there when our settler is built we have to delay fish by one turn. That's why I originally wanted to road pigs instead.

Btw. that warrior you moved to forest hill does nothing in terms of fogbusting as long as you have the other warrior on gems. Gems warrior takes care of the fogbusting.
 
Barb wariior disapeard next turn (moved north i supose).

I had too many situation when i didnt have covered 1-2 freaking tiles and barb show there.
didnt want to somekind of archer spawn in S of our warrior.
 
All units spawnbust a 5x5 block, no barb can spawn there. The tiles are covered by gems warrior.

OB with Darius is good.

Don't continue, from here everything is still open. Still need testing for what to do next.
