Non-Military Events:

Portugal continues to be the dominant colonial power of Africa. Expanding well north of the previous holdings and gaining more lands as the French and Ottoman expansions come to a halt during war time. King John orders prospecting for gold and diamond rich areas in the heartlands of Africa to great success, with the new luxuries being exported a large port city on the west coast of Africa turns into a center of economy in the area. The continued peace and neutral status of Portugal also brings, much like the Dutch, greater trade and with it the surpassing of the rest of Europe as Portugal becomes the naval power of the world. In India the ports cities owned by Portugal are fortified but still open for trade as no one has an idea of what the Islamic Confederation might do next. Great praise for King John as he carries on his mothers dreams for a better brighter tomorrow. Along with this the Kingdom of Portugal is renamed the Empire of Portugal, the King now becomes Emperor and the citizens rejoice at the new found glory and power. Long Live the Emperor chants echo post coronation ceremony in Lisbon. Along with a new title he drops the fourth from his name and becomes John I Emperor of the Portuguese Empire. (+ African EC, + Civilian Leadership)

The United Kingdom of Great Britain having lost in India to the Islamic Confederation spends most of the effort previously held on India to develop Australia. This pays off.(+ Sydney EC)

In France the Senate is named the supreme head of the government and elections are to be held for the next wave of senate members post war. In the absence of Napoleon as to his death, one of his senior generals is named First Consul but only has control over the military and is other wise controlled by the senate. The people are shaken by the Italian’s ability to fight back and the French government spreads propaganda posters about the Italians burning and pillaging French cities. It works to some extent gaining many volunteers to fight the Italians but nothing like they had hoped for. The French are largely tired of the war in which so many of the young French men have died. Protests even appear in Paris but are subdued. French colonial expansion in Australia and New Zealand continues as planned but Africa largely lacks. As with the British and increased trade coming from Asia they gain a center of trade in Australia. (+1 Australian EC, - Confidence)

Spanish protests to fight the French begin early in the year, and are answered by the President. They mobilize for war and the French catch on largely effecting the European front. (see spotlight)

In Italy things go as planned for the Pope as his men fight in France. The support of the Serbian and Greek revolts in the Ottoman Empire brings war between the two states. It was predictable but the Popes influence in the areas gains many more anti Ottoman revolts.

Austria and Hungary remain neutral though large cries for war against the Ottomans arise.

In Germany support for the army increases as everyone does the best they can to help the war effort. Working in factories helping supply lines and joining the armed forces. Another large impulse of men aged anywhere from 15-60 join up and grab a musket. German spies and assassins continue to kill off important military leaders of France and GBU as well as steal valuable maps with troop movements and supply lines, which is what largely is responsible for the successes in the previous year. A young relative of the previous Kaiser, a 16 year old boy takes the throne under heavy advising by the Old Guard. His name is not released as to keep potential enemies in the dark.

The Greater Baltic Union still in awe of the German resilience and largely draining the work force by gaining new soldiers is unable to gain such a large army as previously. The people begin to also Protest the loss, something only seen in the French Alliance system.

The Ottoman Sultan issues that in the future Christians will be allowed possibly to practice their religion openly, this slight possibility only further enrages the Christians.

Russia, largely remained neutral during the war but had a brief and accidental skirmish with Germany. This soon was corrected and forces retreated from Germany. The industrial centers of Russia were expanded and the rebellions quelled. The secret projects of Russia were finally completed as the newly trained armies emerged from the center of Russia and the intense training that they undertook. Many generals were trained over the years and plenty of weapons and uniforms created in secret for the new army. The Tsarista had over seen much of the process. She had created the army that suited Russia and was about to unleash its new found supremacy. (+ Confidence)

Mysore becomes the Empire of Greater Mysore with the British defeat in the area. Gaining much of the lands of India. Besides those annexed by Punjab and ceded to Delhi. Consolidation of the new lands is easier than expected as the areas already wanted British out and Indian rule to be inserted. Christians are expelled from the lands and leave with the British most go to Australia. Christian churches are looted and destroyed, as Islam and Hinduism are the only major religions allowed with infuses on Islam. Economic reforms are introduced as industrialization of a couple key cities brings them up to economic centers. Hyderabad and Bombay are said cities. The Mughal Empire based out of Delhi is a vassal of Punjab and Mysore and is limited to 1 division of military only with the rest being protected by Mysore or Punjab.

Peace in Asia alas as Japan and China come to agreements. Returning of Korea and Manchurian lands to China and Japan keeps Sakhalin. This brings an end to the horrible destructive war which caused the deaths of a few million Chinese and several hundred thousand Japanese soldiers and civilians. China takes criminals and deserters and the like and places them in large labor gangs to rebuild the country. Beijing is slowly being reconstructed as well is most of Manchuria. Trade returns as usual to both nations and things begin to look better for the future.

Canada settles post war borders with Louisianan and builds up her economy. Both countries see influxes of European people from war torn Europe. This greatly increases the economic power of Canada as several of the once smaller cities are turned into economic centers via mining and trading with Louisianan and Russia. The armies ranks are replenished and military leadership under goes an overhaul. Intense training of all Canadian soldiers and officers goes as planned. French is the official language and is mandatory to learn but English is allowed in the New England areas. An increase of liberties to all citizens, spreading nationalistic celebrations. Montreal is planned to be the future capital of Canada as building of the government areas of that city are underway. This is planned to centralize the government for all of Canada. Making Canada the rising star of the North.

Louisianan Empire completely devoted to the war with Mexico, still finds the times to build up the industry base of her country. Making four cities into economic and industrial centers, an alliance is signed with Japan and the sending of technology and receiving of payments and swapping of military officers are all carried out. As with Canada large amounts of European immigrants come to the Empire and help this economic and industrial growth. Many head out to the North West with grants of large amounts of land. Moving a large population to the areas. Slavery is abolished in all areas currently occupied and being occupied by Louisianan forces. Though in the home areas it hasn’t been around for more than two decades in Mexico it was still practiced. This of course helps spread revolts from slaves in Mexico. French and English are announced as the official languages of the Empire. All official documentation is to be printed in both languages to help ease to control of the DRA and NEF. All citizens of DRA and NEF are considered citizens of Louisianan with limited special protection in some cases but seen as complete equals.

The Mexican’s call for a full draft to defend the homelands and a great general is given command of his own army which become known as Hidalgo’s Brigades. Some children as young as 12 years old join the army mainly as supply carriers and drummers.

Military Events:

Peru over the past decade became European in the ways it increased its education systems and laws it passed as well as its military. The time had come the government thought for Peru to claim South America for itself. It all began with a secret operation to build up along the British colonies in the south. Which worked without a hitch. The invasion however was plagued with lack of supplies but gained plenty of land with little loss. The men were forced to gain food from the land causing outbreaks of diarrhea. Many battles were fought but the largest and decisive battle was La Plata, which by the time the Peruvian forces arrived they were sick and ill supplied. The numbers game still played in part but the city was defended after several hours of fighting. Forcing the Peruvians to retreat back several miles. The British then preceded to fight them back through the jungles which again turned the odds as the Peruvian forces set traps for them. The Lines were drawn late in the year as both sides faced supply trouble. Artillery bombardments of La Plata continued despite lack of gun powder. The naval reinforcements to the area finally arrived and relieved the Peruvian forces attacking La Plata and began shelling it as well. The city still holds out. But with the sinking of the British patrol ships in the area little can be done currently. (-4 Divisions Britain, -8 Divisions Peru, -5 Squadrons Britain, -7 Squadrons Peru)

The Latin American war did not go as planned for Louisianan Imperial armies. Mexico put up a greater fight than previously thought possible. Gaining a huge number of soldiers and keeping them well supplied and armed. The Imperial Generals put a modestly sized army to the task of defeating the resistance at Mexico City, 200,000 men were placed in the siege and the early offensives pushed back the Mexican front several miles before the reinforcements arrived. Severely altering plans for the Imperials. They had planned to move around the city and go after the armies into Yucatan. This was brought to a halt on land by Mexican resistance. The Battle of Panama was underway and became the famous victory for Mexico and a propaganda tool. Defeated by a Mexican general known as [1] Miguel Hidalgo who repeatedly lucked out and managed to flank the Imperials throughout the area. He was granted several brigades called Hidalgo’s Brigades by the men. He would lead a attack back to save Mexico City. During the Campaign he was seriously wounded and could no longer fight along side his men but was forced to command from behind the lines. His tactics worked and the Mexican army met back up in Mexico to fight on the invading Imperials. He soon ran out of steam when he attempted to retake Tampico. Where he was routed by the Legionnaires. His army was soon pushed back to Mexico and bombarded where they continue to hold out. In the western side of the city he still have a large amount of claims under his control as large numbers of his soldiers are holding the front and built a series of trenches. Here they hold out but on the eastern front there are no such trenches and it is only a matter of time before the Imperials march into the city.

Louisianan forces soon realized that despite the Mexicans hard fought war they Yucatan and Guatemalan armies were defeated and saw the lands as easy and worth while gains. Imperial forces in Tampico set sail and bombard and sink and of the forces that might bother them on the way. Followed by the army on land and a couple sea invasions to skip the jungles. Soon both minor nations were defeated and most of the population gladly welcomed new rule as the laws and freedoms were better than what they previously had.
(-24 Divisions,-2 Legions Louisianan, -30 Divisions, -12 Conscript Divisions, -3 Hidalgo’s Brigades Mexico, -Yucatan and Guatemala as independent nations)

The Russian Offensive/ European Theater

First we must talk about the great project of the Tsarista. She planned Russia to be a the greatest Empire the world had ever seen and indeed she was on the right path. The secret creation and training of a million man army. Something even her allies did not see coming until the later phases of the project. Industrialization of the inner areas of Russia greatly improved the secrecy and created all the weapons and gear needed for such a huge army. The training took months and months and the great generals of Russia passed on knowledge to the newer officers. After months of preparations and two years after the start of the great war, Russia unleashed its new army. Something neither side saw coming as the Germans were unsure for a while the Russian intentions in Germany. Now the Russian intentions were made known. The Invasions of the Greater Baltic Union and Ottoman Empires followed shortly after in February Offensives. Before we get to those however the German Theater was reaching a climax.

The French pushed back to the Rhine and the Baltic Union’s troops on the retreat things became increasingly tense in Germany. Many volunteers joined up to help fight the French back. Near Danish lands the German and Baltic Armies clashed in the largest battle between the two this year. With the German militia pushing the Baltic soldiers out of north Germany, this was the last place for a battle to take place. They battle took place North of Holland and around Bonn. In the early parts of January the battle was on standstill due to weather giving time for the Baltic Marines to show up and aid in the battle. Causing temporary loss by the Germans. Numbers and military brilliance kicked in there after causing the Baltic armies to lose and retreat back up into Denmark. By March the battle for Denmark was over as the Baltic Armies retreated back to defend the homelands from the Russian invasions. Small skirmishes here and there between remaining groups of Danish resistance but the battle was largely won and had been so since Bonn.

Along the Rhine the war bogged to a standstill. With the French pushing at full force to slow the Germans down. It worked as the Engineers destroyed all bridges in the south to stop the movements and they fought for many weeks just across the rivers with cannon fire and muskets shots. Little loss because of this however as both parts of the army left the banks and found higher ground. In the north South of Holland the real battles took place as the Germans marched towards Paris. The French Northern Army was equal to that of the German one. A slug fest of power took place over the early quarter of the year, but with the Baltic Union off the Germans backs they full force was applied to the Front and several miles were gained. A battle North of Paris which was the extent of the incursion lasted three weeks and was ultimately a German defeat. Pushing back to nearly the same borders as in previous months. This extremely effected the French peoples morale and protests in Northern France occurred, as many homes were destroyed by cannon shelling and fires. The death toll continued to rise as the lines once again slowed down after the Germans loss north of Paris.

The Russians joined the war against the Greater Baltic Union first. They began the invasions when the Germans were defeating the Baltic Armies in Denmark in late February. With a new show of strength and leadership 500,000 Russians preceded into Finland easily taking the sparsely defended lands. Easily pushing several hundred miles and with winter clothing and plenty of supplies this was like a vacation for many of the soldiers. When they marched down to Stockholm and areas they met the first real combat. The Russian navy had set out and captured key islands in the Baltic Sea leaving no areas for attack against the Russian homelands and also providing areas of supply and medical stations. The retreating and exhausted Baltic troops from Denmark came home to an even larger and fresh army of Russia knocking through all garrisons and taking much of the whole of the GBU. The Baltic armies soon surrendered separately from the full chain of command and deserted tired of combat and not wanting to be killed after hard fighting in Germany. Few left mainly Marines who fought hard in Stockholm and in the south. The Russians sat back and consolidated while shelling the areas. No need for loss was the generals motto. The battle for Stockholm became bloody never the less as Russians would march up in vast numbers unload volleys of musket balls into the Marine lines and fall back to reload and re supply. This was traumatizing to the Baltic men and soon many went either mad or deserted in fear of death. They began calling the volleys, the roar of the bear. As every time one would come, thousands of muskets fired simultaneously causing a fearfully loud noise similar to a monsters roar. It is plain to see the GBU has no chance of victory, but perhaps a chance to survive if they sue for peace.

In Italy and Southern France The lines were quickly lost to French numbers and superior training and leadership. The Italians were pushed back to Marseilles where they fortified and hold out most of the year. The French are quickly forced to split up the army to fight off the now advancing Spanish armed forces. The Spanish had long been contemplating going and the population wanted revenge on France from Napoleon. Seeing the opportunity they invaded Southern France and Africa. In France they made little gains due to French militia increases in the area. Enough though to cause the French to move forces to fight them. Which helped the Italians hold out and reinforce the North. The tactical details of the Spanish front are not important enough to be discussed, though it was mainly stick and carrots.

The French did however launch and invasion against Sicily, however the Italian garrison in the area was increased due to an attack on North Africa planned by the Italian generals. The French just like the year previous underestimated the opponents in the area and failed to make landings on Sicily. Largely harming the Italian fleet however. Which helped the Ottoman invasion force who came into the areas right after the French defeat a couple days or a week at most. They came in and completely finished off the Italian navy in the area and made landings in southern Italy but failed to invade Sicily due to heavy resistance and lack of numbers. In southern Italy they did not gain much as the Italian militia held the lines with Swiss Guards. The codename Death cavalry defeated the Italians in a number of locations but were no match for the dug in Swiss Guard. In Serbia and Greece continued Italian help creates rather large armies for themselves. Enough in turn to hold out against the Ottoman attacks for a while. In the end the Death cavalry make short work of most of the aggressors mainly in Greece. Serbia continues to be fed by Italia and holds out.

French North Africa is hardly defended as troops are brought back to defend France herself. The Spanish make huge gains in Africa as this was the main campaign for them. Double the troop numbers and plenty of empty lands were easy gains as they marched mainly via coastline all of North Africa and most of west Africa fell easily.

Now the second Russian invasion takes place against the Ottoman Empire. The invasion of Anatolia and Crimea begin first with huge success by the million man army of Russia and the Russian navy finds no offense in the Black Sea to keep supplies open. The smaller garrisons in these areas mainly Anatolia causes quick loss. Crimea is the heaviest defended area of this campaign and the Ottomans fight hard to hold out but ultimately lose outnumbered 10-1. A jihad is called against Russia gaining huge numbers of conscripts to fight in Anatolia. The battles rage for months on end tons of bloodshed with mainly Ottoman defeats. Finally the battle pushes to Istanbul. The bloodiest battle by far of the war. As countless hundreds of thousands of Muslims fight some without weapons against the Russians. Only to be slaughtered by huge volleys of cannon and musket balls. They held out barely but lost when a Russian landing north of the city causes them to be flanked and ultimately defeated. They fight to the last and the Sultan is captured, is now being kept in Crimean prison camps. The battles beyond this point are largely small and spread out in the areas of the Balkans the last strong hold in the area. Egypt remains un touched. Another offensive by the Russians based out of the Persian gulf area is hugely successful pushing through the fertile crescent with deadly speed. Largely unchallenged. Several bands of Muslim fighters do cause damage in some areas.

The Russian’s joining the war only caused the near complete defeat of Frances key allies. How long can they last without them?

lol screw this i quit

You clearly didn't understand the extent of my plan. I attacked you on 4 fronts with well over 50 Divisions. The project itself brought our Leadership up two levels (therefore it surpassed yours), brought our Training up three levels (therefore we were not that far from you in training) and our Army was increased by 100 Divisions. It was called "Supremacy" for a reason. I had no intention of leaving my allies and had created this plan before the war even began. We all had to sit back and wait until I was capable of assisting my allies.

Snap... thats a hella project icmancin... (Weren't you at 11/31) last turn...

edit: Way to be a poor sport there eh? If you don't give a **** why would you care what people say. And if you don't give a **** why feel the need to say it.

@Moose... Thats a fine update, if not from mexico's perspective...

you clearly dont understand that i dont give a ****

seriously shut up about me leaving it will only further piss me off

Ok, leave him be. It was his choice.

Yes, The Major I was. I used almost all my ECs and slashed two Economy Levels to get there. My actual offensive plan was aimed at the ECs of my enemies so I could sustain my economy after this turn. It payed off.

@ major thanks for the compliment I think my updates are getting better. I might have missed a few things minor but not like I use to.

@ kentharu no it wasn't

Yeah, your updates are good. They are consistent and to the point. I like them, keep up the good work. This is not Russia talking but the player. They are good updates.

I will take France :p

Oh, what were you?

@Moose: I agree with The Major and Icmancin, your updates are getting better and better, this one was really good. Not for me as a nation, but still. And Icmancin, :hatsoff:, that was a masterpiece.

IC:
From: GBU

We unconditionally surrender.

EDIT: And no, I ain't quitting either. If GBU is still around at all after this that is... :p

No, he hasn't. I can't see him quitting, he is a crafty one.

Thank you Niklas and a treaty to come soon.

EDIT - Wow, triple crosspost.

Uhh...Never mind

Damn the Spainairds took what I wanted.

To the Ottoman Empire
From HURI

Give us Egypt and allow the independence to Serbia and Greece, oh and withdraw from our territory and we shall sign peace with you. You have bigger problems than Italy right now.
