More Wonders

What about Udvada Atash-Behram for a new Religious Wonder in future?

Holiest site for the Zoroastrians; Supposedly supposed to house one of their sacred fires. Home of both pilgrimages and refugees over the centuries.

You don't take any risks, do you? :p

Haha, didn't notice I did that. I sound like someone else in my family there lol. My mother always talks in uncertain measures in German finding a way to say 20 different kinds of maybe in the same sentence

While we're here: how did the icons for the Wonders get saved as .dds files? I'm trying to figure out why my .dds files out of GIMP2 won't load into CivV.

sukritact does all the icons, but from what I know you need to make sure they are set to Import into VFS - True.

EDIT: Okay guys, just apologising in advance for the Civilopedias today, I'm having a tough time with them and they're ending up really short. I'll try release an update in future with larger ones

Songkran

Across April 13-15, Songkran is celebrated in South East Asian countries, particularily Thailand. Historically it marked the beginning of the Thai New Year, however in recent times this has changed to be January 1 in line with the rest of the world. Songkran remains a national holiday, and is celebrated in part by water throwing. To celebrate Songkran, we have released a wonder pack comprising of four Thai wonders - Amphawa Floating Market, the Democracy Monument, Khao San Road and Wat Pho. These are all modular, and can be enabled / disabled at any time. The Songkran Wonder Pack can be downloaded either from the Ingame ModBrowser, or from the CivFanatics Download Database, page Here

So, you Songkran is all about Bangkok as I see :p
Guess you really want to be involved in a city-sized water fight :D

Pouakai wanted fewer temples/wats and unfortunately other then temples I couldn't really think of much outside Bangkok (And a wonder called the "Ruins of Sukhothai" just doesn't have the same ring to it).

On a related note, most of the streets here were soaked yesterday, my parent's car basically got a free car wash, albeit not a particularly clean one.

Great work! After I finish my current singleplayer game I will download (some of, a few I will leave out due to balance) these wonders.

Once I figure out how to get my .dds files to load into Civ V, I will test and throw out some proposals for you. Evidently this "load into VFS" checkbox you need to load .dds images into CivV is in Modbuddy, but I didn't use Modbuddy.

Aha. I would suggest talking to sukritact, he's done some wonders by himself (With magnificent art) and doesn't use ModBuddy.

PS. Sukritact, if you see this, the 45 icon of Abu Simbel doesn't work

Open the .modinfo file, locate your artwork (.dds) <File> entry and add the import="1" attribute, eg

Code:
<File md5="D5FF943B4CDF99F54C797F883624A8BD" [COLOR="Red"]import="1"[/COLOR]>ART/UBIconAtlas128.dds</File>

Apollo Program & Project Longshot

apollo_longshot_1_1p1.jpg

On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin became the first men to ever set foot upon another world, as part of the Apollo program. They spent over 21 hours on the surface, in which time they paved the way for another 140 hours by 10 more individuals. The Apollo Program and Neil Armstrong's momentus first steps were watched by millions worldwide, creating a generation of budding Astronauts and winning America the Space Race. The Apollo Program as it existed ingame is replaced with Project Longshot, a hypothetical spacecraft to Alpha Centauri. The Apollo Program Wonder provides +2 free technologies, and provides +2 Scientist slots, making it a beneficial wonder for a Science victory. The Apollo Program & Project Longshot can be downloaded from the ingame ModBrowser, or from the CivFanatics Download Database, page Here

So, I've got that Broadway is OP, but what else?

For me the churches of isabella, and the rock of domes looks a little overpowered.
At least if you build both in a short time, its a cultural break.

:wow: Hey your newest wonder looks promising , will use it the next time i play Civ, hopefully before G&K comes out.

Are you taking suggestions? If so, one that I would love to see is the Bastille. It's quite historically significant as a symbol of the power of the French monarchy, and the storming and subsequent destruction of it was a very important turning point in the French revolution. For its power, I would suggest having it greatly reduce :c5unhappy: Unhappiness in the city where it is built, and have that reduction increase further upon adoption of Autocracy or Order but change to bonus :c5culture: culture if Freedom is adopted.

Awesome idea, I'll put it on the list along with the page 25 stuff.

If anyone wants to get into making wonders, just flick me a PM. I'll be more than happy to help and offer some of the wonders on my list to you.

Finally, sorry about the lack of a wonder yesterday. I've been rather busy, and I will do my best to get it to you in the next couple of days, hopefully tonight. Cheers guys

Pena National Palace

Pena National Palace is a large Romanticist palace located on a hill in the Sintra region of Portugal, close enough so that it can be seen on fine days in the capital, Lisbon. It was constructed on the site of a former monastery, which was in turn constructed on the site from an apparent appariation of the Virgin Mary of Christianity. The monastery was destroyed in the Great Lisbon Earthquake of 1755, and King Ferdinand II build the Pena National Palace in it's place. Ingame, Pena National Palace makes defensive buildings +20% more effective, and is available with Steam Power. The Pena National Palace can be downloaded from the Ingame ModBrowser, or from the CivFanatics download database, page Here
