BTW since this is kind of on topic, but is it just me or are pierogi's becoming a popular dinner dish in North America?
I guess it was always a known thing because of the large Polish population but in recent years I've seen microwavable pierogies on store shelves and people actually talking about having pierogies for dinner like it was something normal like spaghetti or something.
I've only seen either meat or cheese pierogies here though. I wonder how long it will take for North Americans to discover all the random crap us Poles put in them.
I haven't noticed any significant surge in pirogi consumption among my peers, but they do seem a bit more common at supermarkets and the like. They're probably more common in areas with significant populations of Eastern European heritage.
