It is an error that shouldn't be there but I can't imagine how it might have arisen....

I have a load of other mods runing mostly whowards tweaks new civs, csd and civ 4 dipo as well as more luxuries.

Hey there.

I've been playing the Phoenicia mod, and it is an absolutely wonderful civ to play as, especially in a game made up entirely of ancient and classical era civilizations. I'm really enjoying it. The problem is, when playing Hiram, and only Hiram, the game tends to irregularly crash, frozen screen, the app shuts down, error report, you know the drill. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having this problem? I think it might be something to do with trade routes (cargo ships in particular?), when a new cargo is built or a route needs reassigning. I can't be certain, because the game crashes before I have a chance to check which trade routes were up for resetting. Is this a thing people have noticed with the mod, or is it more likely to be a mod clash/software/hardware(?) problem.

Cheers.

I'd assume it's called Tuscany to cover more; sort of how Boudicca's leader of the Celts, except this time, it makes more sense. It's useful for the city list as well, given "Doge of Florence" can only cover so much, and it makes it look far more like a Renaissance civ in general. No idea exactly what Suk was going for, but I'd assume something like this.

De Medici was the Doge of Florence not of the whole Tuscan region.

I.E (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorenzo_de'_Medici)

I actually was going to have him lead an entire Italian civilization at first

Yes, as Viregel said, it is designed thus to cover more ground; the entirety of the Tuscan region fits the Renaissance rather well, and stops the city list from being "Florence, New Florence, New New Florence" etc.

You'll have to substantiate that if you mean it. Doge is basically a Duke, but Florence wasn't a duchy until the 1500s, which is after Lorenzo's time.

EDIT: Some quick research suggests he was a Gonfaloniere, which is a very different post from that of Doge or Duke (which have monarchichal implications of self-determined power).

Ah. Okay thanks, should have done more research.

Here in Italy we usually say that Lorenzo de' Medici is "Il Signore" (=The Lord) of Florence, and that Medicean Florence was a "Signoria", even if he was not officially the head of Florentine Republic.

You mentioned elsewhere there was a conflict with the Tupi and India pack. Whatever is this conflict? Maybe it can explain odd things that have been happening in games recently.

(it doesn't help that whenever anything goes wrong I have like 100+ mods activated, but)

Something to do with their UA I believe. Both use the "DummyPolicy" tag and it would cause compatibility issues, and it so happened that since the game loads the India civs earlier than Tupi, the game disregards the Tupi's UA and they don't get an UA as a result, showing up as "Civ Specific Bonus 2"

I know that feeling, I'm not sure what's causing my game to quit sometime randomly after turn 200 and I have over 100 mods so.....

Well, I'll have to change the DummyPolicy tag in either of them then.

But first!, I must have a game with the Sami, they look amazingly great.
