The West Indies have been disappointing in the Super 8's so far, Gayle hasnt really made an impact yet either. There supporters are great though.
 
The West Indies have just capitulated to Sri Lanka. Three thrashings in a row, now, and they really need a miracle to make the last 4.

So, with Oz all but through, we have a rather anti-climactic struggle between Sri Lanka, NZ, South Africa and England for 3 of the four semi-final places. I doubt the Super-8s were meant to feel this mundane and uninteresting.
 
Speak for yourself I personally don't find it mundane and uninteresting but thats just me, or maybe because the kiwi's are still there and playing good cricket...
Im predicting a Aussie/Kiwi final with Aussie sadly beating us rather comprehensively.
 
Sad that the WIndies are out (or just about) but they don't really deserve to be there. Thank god schools nearly over; i dont need to feel guilty about staying up alnight watching NZ vs Bangladesh.

Just dont screw this up boys!

Shane Bond's bowling figures: 10 overs; 4 maidens; 15 runs; 2 wickets; economy 1.50 . Quite something, even against Bangladesh.

More and more NZ are putting themselves in a favourite's role. With SA having beaten SL and with NZ having beaten England, I guess Aus, SA and NZ are the ones to make it to the semis, whereas SL and Eng will fight for the fourth spot. Ok, a lot can happen, but I would be surprised to see either Aus, SA or NZ miss a semi-final spot.

Hmm, with NZ and Aus looking so impressive.... And England having won a tournament amongst the three of them earlier this year....

Maybe the England team isn't as bad as many think. I guess the key match will be England - Sri Lanka.
 
The World Cup is great. Go the Black Caps. Unless it is all just an April Fool's joke and actually, Ireland and West Indies have already qualified for the final.

Actually it would have to be the two biggest nations merging with each other. Lest say Australia Mergin with Australia A. :mischief: :D

Well, today actually has a Super 8 match where you're not pretty sure of the outcome beforehand. Hope you're all excited!

As technocactus said, South Africa should not be ruled out. And not only because they are looking good recently. They are the number one ODI team for a reason. Only 1 bowler that can't bat and only three batsmen that can't bowl (and one of them can keep wicket).

I still think England and Sri Lanka will decide today who will get the fourth spot. So far England are on top, as they restricted Sri Lanka to 235 runs.
