VRA-01 ~ The Masters.

And this is why I like discussion. I'm all for building courts. But we can't afford to attack Monty. Why? He's serving a purpose right now, that of place-holder.

We can't raze, as Shaka will settle and escape.
We can't keep because we can't afford it economically and scientifically. And his land is crappy anyway.

By looks of things, we're having issues with culture/power/religious influence.

So, we need to build that up, send out misionaires and tech trade our way back to parity before going on the offensive if we need to.

this is a long term plan. Shift the army west. 5 maces and 3 cats would get crushed by monte anyway. Designated prolly NY to build new military and build up the economy elsewhere. Vassalize or conquer Khan. The next target is then James Brown land (i.e. Seoul) for the holy city. Then viola, nobody doesn't hate us anymore. before we do that try to trade paper to Wang for optics. IMIO, we really need Wang's holy city and we really need a prophet to build a shrine there after we take it.

And this is why I like discussion
me too. :bounce:

A few Longbows of garrison in Ulundi would be cool, as well as mabye another city along that front - once it's not on Tundra. We can let Shaka settle the permafrost. As for Khan, I say just crush him. Let him keep his holy colony. Now, on the shrine front. I *think* the Mahobadhi is in Seoul. I'm fairly sure, but please compare the building in the city with the 'pedia.

Now, a rather large issue that causes however, while it might solve some money issues, beware that...IF we revolt to Budhhism, we lose all the Science beakers Sankore gives us per Hindu building. At this point, I'm inclined to suffer our diplo penalties, and wait it out till Liberalism, which we are at already. Hopefully we'll have a few free relgion swaps.

First off got it and started playing.

We got a Great Scientist:

Civ4ScreenShot0004-3.jpg

Only problem I am not sure what to do with him. We can burn him for beakers towards Printing Press. Or do we want to build another Academy? Or Just merge with Boston?

Civ4ScreenShot0006-2.jpg

The above picture our for everyone to get an idea about the present situation.

BTW: I have chosen to make my turn set a builder one to develop some infrastructure for the future cities from Monty.:D

Do not remove our forces from Ulundi. I will deal myself with the Aztecs. I am gonna raze most of his cities, but we need gold to get forward in research. Just try improve the economy (micromanagment).

Is everyone on board with putting the Globe in Ulundi? We can use it as a whipping post - should the need arise.

This is the first time for me in a game to have a vassal civ. I was under the impression that so long as the vassal had something they have no choice but to give it to you. Yet Shaka refused to give us the two techs he has on us . Is this right and I am missing something?

I also think that Ulundi with it's high food potential should get the the Globe Theater and be used as the main whipping post. The Forbidden Palace though I think needs to be further North in one of the cities we take from someone.

I'm highly against decalring war on the Aztecs. He's Bhuddist, and we can't afford the rep it. Thankfully, if there's one thing you can depend on, it's Monty declaring war.

We've land enough as is, and Sankore will solve our science issues I think. We can take resources from Shaka, not techs. What we do need to do though is get a city on the tundra, where the marble is. You can as well just settle on the marble, it's not as if the city will grow.

OK I have played 12 turns and have left us with one turn to Liberalism. I did this because I did not know what tech we should get for the free tech. Also I have been trying to spread Hinduism around our empire to build Hindu buildings and have started some Universities. I moved the Great Scientist to Ulundi, because there seemed to be no discussion as to what to do with him. My vote is to build an Academy at Ulundi, hence his relocation. Since nothing exciting happen I do not have many pictures so here they are.

I am really [pissed] about Shaka refusing to give us any of his tech considering that he is our Vassal. What the #@%$ is going on. Aside from that it appears that we can outproduce everyone so going for Monty next so be relatively easy.

The save.

One last point I am sorry for the delay in playing and getting this report done.

*sighs*

There is an Academy in Ulundi already. Was there iny my turnset.
And yes, no free tech we'll be getting.

I just found out why Bede was posting in this thread. Your nasty April Fools joke totally got me for a minute Admiral and others.
:mischief:

What we do need to do though is get a city on the tundra, where the marble is. You can as well just settle on the marble, it's not as if the city will grow.
Haven't most or all of the marble wonders been built?
