NCG 3: The Rebirth

Finish the game and post before you go on camp, that way we can dissect your game by the time you come back:D . Plus i would hate to have to wait ages to find out how the last round of the game went. Besides i have been playing a shadow game, and it would be nice to see how i do compared to someone at noble level instead of all these immortal and monarch level games on here. How long are you going anyway?

Hackapell, if you are going to do an open-start game next do you mind if i have a go at a NCG 4? I have been practicing my warmongering lately and think it would be nice to pick a complete warmonger and go on a bloodly rampage:D .

Yes, I'm in the midst of the last round. Since it's soooooo long, I will just do highlights.

Mu'min, I will be doing an open-game next, just so I can get a feel for the different ways of doing these challenges. You are always welcome, and yes, I'm in the mood for some serious warmongering myself. :D :ar15:
we can discuss which leader to use in the pre-game thread.
and on a related side-note, you are welcome to write your own little summary; just put it in spoiler tags and we can comment on it. :D

Round 6: 1232 AD to 1973

Since this was a massive and rushed update, ( This is 3 updates mashed into one) I will just do highlights, and add in the details:

The neighbors:

each one of them was totally isolated, and Monty and HC ran into me, not the other way around. looking at the map, there was a 50% chance that we were going to be isolated. Scary!

Herculnalean acheivements:

I was fourth to optics, and burned just two (2!) GSs in order to win Liberalism. I was also three techs behind HC for the GM of Economics, and I stiil won! Meanwhile, the AI kept their GP for golden ages, and were clearly terrible explorers. :crazyeye:

Golden ages:

Pretty easy to pick up. Two is par for the course for me.

Wonder whoring:

and finally, in 1973:

post-mortem is following...

Post-Mortem

First, a look at the charts...
Score:

Picture32-2.png

I really took off once I conquered hatty, clearly.
Power:

Picture33-2.png

I got lazy at the end and built maybe 5 units. Meanwhile, Louis was building up his army from all the pseudo-wars that happened. (At least 5 must have gone on while I was running away with the game. Why??? Why make my job easier?????)

Demographics:

Picture34-2.png

First in everything except approval rate. My people were clamoring for Emaincipation for a very long time. :mischeif:

the top 5 (cities, that is):

Top Two! Good work for an industrious civ :goodjob:

and our rank in history:

.....Who?
Ah well. that's my highest space race victory ever, so I should be thankful.
A lot could have gone better. I could've expanded faster and aimed to kill everyone. I will probably spend some time working out a way to pick out civs in the future. I think going for early wonders quickly is suicide: it kills your growth and doesn't help tremendously in the long run. I think I will acheive a cultural victory with another civ: most of my games that win in that fashion are not planned and are very late. meanwhile, I will wait for comment and start the next pre-game thread soon. It will have more warmongering, I promise you...;)
we can talk about that later though. Comments are welcome before the next pre-game show. Here's the final save, a few turns before victory.
Also any shadow games played out may be put outside of spoiler tags if one likes.
