201 AD – 220 AD: Turn 11 (Final Update)
Domestic Events
Sometimes, things end, if only for a while. With the close of the Mediterranean War and the Stick War, the world seemed poised to go into a long slumber. Empires around the world consolidated, and prepared for the unknown that was to come.
Stockholm expanded southward, aided by its elite Norse Raiders, and promises to grow all the more powerful.
(-1 000 Norse Raiders)
Wessex, meanwhile, expands into barbarian Celt-held Wales, while leaving expansion in Scotland to Mercia. Trade picks up in this northerly region, as setting up an embargo on Brittany has gained Wessex the favor of the Celtic Empire, as well as the Cornwall trade settlment, handed over to them by the Celtic Empire. Wine becomes a primary item of export. Raids from Denmark have begun to become a problem, however, and the remaining free barbarian Celts in Wales seem dangerously close to forming a coalition…
(-3 000 Wessex Regulars)
The Celtic Empire, meanwhile, crushes Brittany, and establishes even greater hold on Italia.
(See Military Events)
The Isle of Man is also occupied by the Celts without incident.
In Mardia, attempts to create a nation ‘of all people’ fails, as the Romans don’t want any part of the Punics or the Celtiberians, or vica versa. Northward expansion, however, restores the people’s faith in their government, though the defeated Celts were oddly well prepared.
(-4 000 Madrian Regulars)
The Byzantines begin to encourage the religion of the Jesusites, and indeed, subvert it, as to become more of a Hellenic national religion than anything else. Jesusism is redubbed Kyrianity, and the religion, under the endorsement of prominent Greek philosophers, begins to rapidly increase in influence. This creates some unrest among those who still practice the old ways, but nevertheless, Kyrianity spearheads an enlightenment. The acceptance of Constantine as a prophet helps the religion gain converts, as, even now, that great emperor is still revered.
Byzantium makes limited territorial gains in Ilyria, but its armies fail to capture Venice; that honor going to the Celts.
(-1 000 Byzantine Myrmidions)
The Aegyptians, for something different, also begin a general trend to monotheistic beliefs. They also declare war against Lusitania.
(See Military Events)
Axum expands southwards, and rumors of a Prophecy spread around, causing a general revival of the Orthodox Jewish faith.
In Mesopotamia, in the former Assyrian lands, the Urrian War reaches its finale, which includes intervention by the Bachirans...
(See Spotlight)
Greater India, meanwhile, continues its expansion, as ever. More regions are conquered and integrated, as far away as Luzon, and Sogdiana and Pandya seem ever closer to becoming de facto vassal states.
(-3 000 Greater Indian Regulars)
Chu-Nan, or rather, the Chu-Nan Empire of China, scuffles with India over the boundaries of its new colony at Luzon, as the Chu-Nan have set up a new colony there as well, but those events only happen on the periphery. With the surrender of the Zhou Emperor’s direct successor, most of the remaining Zhou lands easily are brought into the fold, and those regions that remain belligerent are quickly conquered.
(-3 000 Chinese Horse Demons, -2 000 Chinese Regulars,-Zhou as an Independent Nation)
Koryo is restored to nationhood, for its loyal service to the Chu-Nan cause, and the surrendered Zhou royalty? They meet a tragic and unexpected death in an accident.
Kyushu is also colonized.
(-1 000 Chinese Regulars)
The remaining Indian troops in China go home, set with a massive tribute to the Indians to thank them for their help.
Japan, meanwhile, is taught a variety of technological secrets by the Chinese, but still fail to advance in age.
(+1 Japanese Education)
Efforts to conquer more land from the Ainu go well.
(-1 000 Japanese Regulars)
Military Events
In Brittany, Celtic rebellions grip the land even as its Lusitanian leaders are murdered, one by one. Celtic hordes from the Empire retake the land easily, though casualties would have been lower, had the Celts been better trained.
(-Brittany as an Independent Nation, -4 000 Celtic Warriors of Taranis)
In Italia, Celtic armies press on against the disorganized Romans. Venice falls, and so does Rome itself, even as the Romans in south Italia, still free, show no signs of pulling themselves back together.
(-4 000 Celtic Warriors of Taranis)
Aegypt launches an attack against Lusitania, an attack which easily overwhelms the rather pathetic loyalists in the region. By the same token, the rest of southern Italia is also secured.
(-6 000 Aegyptian Regulars, -3 000 Aegyptian Royal Guard)
Random Events
There is an upsurge of both Celtic nationalism and Celtic development.
(+2 Celtic Project Progress, +1 Celtic Culture, +1 Celtic Education)
Aegypt grows more unified.
(+2 Aegyptian Culture)
Axum grows more…destined.
(+1 Axumite Culture)
The roads of India are built at a rapid pace.

Spotlight: New Dawn on the Middle East
“This is ours, by right.”
-King Shmuel of Bachira
More tribes join the Bachirans willingly, and Persian garrisons in Arabia come under assault. As this region is severely under garrisoned, the entire region falls to Bachira with little trouble.
(-1 000 Persian Regulars, -1 000 Bachiran Kanaim)
And unbeknownst to the danger the Bachirans pose for them all, the Urrians and the Persians continue fighting anew. Coming around Ur’s defenses, by taking former Assyrian lands, and striking from the north, the Persians gain a significant tactical advantage, as the Urrians fail to expect this.
Spearheaded by their elite Immortals, and enjoying a numerical advantage, the Persians crush the Urrian armies between the Tigris and the Euphrates. The Urrians make a last stand at their capital, but are cut down there as well. Heavy casualties were inflicted upon the attackers, but it was not enough to save Ur.
(-Ur as an Independent Nation, -19 000 Persian Regulars, -2 000 Persian Immortals)
And, watching it all, the Bachirans smile, as the civilized lands fight amongst themselves.
