ok then, disenfranchised, if you are able to take is first, go ahead. we should now think about what we actually want to achieve. war against Dutch or another nation first?
I think Dutch really need to be slowed a bit. if we go over, bring army for cover along. that's essential, but I guess you all know that.

also, try and steal steam now, let's hope we have coal and then go for railroading our islands. that will gie us additinonal boost.

do not be afraid to trade techs to the little backwards Civ. we can use their money as well
 
I checked the save. with some MM we could get Madrid to 20spt. try and get cities to critical numbers such as 10, 15, 20

we can fire some clowns and get taxman instead and make 15gpt more than we do now. of course we should also fire some obsolete units, we currently pay 52gpt unit support.

and finally, after we steal steam, we could opt to self research as well. we could get medicine at 8turns with a small deficit. or if we get steam try to get electricity, a tech that we could possible broker. at this stage in republic, we should try and self research, we are almost even in techs with AI. of course we need to start a pre build for ToE with follow up on AT and electronics. If that works out, we will be very powerful.

Unfortunately my attempts to find an alternate computer have failed and so I'll have to give up playing this SG till payday at the end of the month (new computers cost money - who'd have thought it? :rolleyes: )

don't worry about it, we will stll be on time. railing Barcelona has made it more productive. I also mined cows and wheats. Madrid now has a factory and plant and is really high on shields, which is good.

The war in the south didn't go that well because not enough units. Next time round, we must be better prepared.

But, as I said, next target should be Dutch and since they declared, we are getting war happiness now. We are very healthy, I forgot that, but we can upgrade all those muskets to rifles and then build more units to attack Dutch.

The island east of former Protugal has 2 Dutch cities, we should start there. And send over our 3 armies to the core the wreak havoc. We should eventually send over a settler to establish a beach head.

as for research, i left it switched off, I hope electricity would be coming up shortly, then we should try and research scientific methods ourselves to get ToE. and of course, we take AT and electronics, thus shjould have a Hoover prebuild somewhere

Well if you will have a dipsy blonde I'd like to join in, I'm a confident Monarch player. The last few SG's I've been in have died due to drop outs and I know how that feels.

ok, this is emperor, so do you think you are up to it? the biggest challenge for you will be MM and trading. maybe you can have a look at the save and see what's done. I would be happy to have another player here.

Well from looking at the save, I would say in the corrupt areas to concentrate on gold rushing settlers/workers and ICS, irrigate and RR everything, food doesn't corrupt and use the extra pop for scientists and taxmen. Money doen't seem to be a problem, you just need somewhere to spend it. :) I also notice that you've only just conquered those lands so it's understandable.

Only 25 workers, and I don't know how many slaves but looks like alot. I think you need more workers.

I have no problem with MM. I would be happy to come aboard.

good analysis or our situation. we just conquered Portugese land and not long ago, the other part of the Island.

so, welcome to our team, it started with 6 and 3 drop outs :(

The big foe in this game are the Dutch, so we would want to attack them using our armies to pillage them. We are a little lux poor, but that can't be helped.

Pre-turn:
If we wanna get ToE and Hoover Dam first we better start some research ourselves... right?
Put science at 70%, still making about 120 gpt.
1.
Send our armies to former France for the attack on the dutch.
Rail, rail and rail terrain.
IT: We lose Lisbon with the Mausoleum, it flips back to the portugese.. :(
2.
Rush some temples in former Portugal, to prevent another flip (hopefully).
Galleon's and Frigates (we need more Frigates btw) are sent to salamanca.
4.
Bombard a privateer (dutch I think) road, rail, irrigate...
Start some work on a few Frigates for defending our Galleons.
6.
Mecca completed Universal Suffrage (Madrid was building this too). Complete Electricity. Steal medicine from Carthage. Steal from arab fails.
We win a naval battle. 1 of the 3 Spanish frigates escorting an army vs a elite dutch Frigate.
Madrid switches to Pentagon (1turn), no loss of shields.
8.
Dutch send a few frigates to North Spain. Move more troops to ex-France for future invasion.
Complete Pentagon in Madrid. We can now have 4 units in an army.
10. 1475
First dutch ironclad spotted. Group of dutch ships bombarded with canons. When the Galleon steps up as defender we attack with a frigate. Galleon (with most likely 4 units) sinks.

some information for the next player(s). Technologies to steal and our map. Before anyone invades dont forget to fill our armies up with 1 extra unit (Pentagon).
