Hi all,

I have several questions regarding how to gather intelligence:

1) How would I know which civilization has advances that I don't have yet? Is there a quick way other than negotiate with EVERY Civ to see whether they can trade Tech?

2) How would I know which Civ is providing which resource to another Civ? For example, I know in my game, Zululand has no Saltpeter in its territory. However, they have Saltpeter as a resource, so I would like to know who is providing them with this resource.

Also, I can't find many menu functions on the screen. For example. F11 shows the biggest cities, but if I don't know this shortcut key, where on the screen should I click to see this?

Thanks!

Answers:

1) unfortunately no, you've got to dicker with them every round...most annoying.

2) again, unfortunately you cannot. At best, once you establish embassies you can see who they are trading with, and perhaps figure it out by process of elimination (ie they are trading with the Greeks and Romans, and the Romans have 3 saltpeter to the Greeks 1...they are probably getting it from the Romans, but could be getting it from the Greeks if, by chance, the Greeks are getting it from the Romans as well) You can check who a nation is trading with in the Diplomacy Screen (F4) on the Trade tab.

Let me see what I remember:

F1: Commerce screen (rates, city status, government switch)
F2: City Status?
F3: Trade Status (this and F2 might be switched)
F4: Diplomacy (the one I am always on!)
F5: I forget
F6: Science Advisor
F7: Wonders (built and in construction if you know the civs)
F8: Score
F9: Palace
F10: Space Ships
F11: Top 5 cities and Demographics

The histograph and a few other things are on buttons along the right-hand side of the information box in the lower-right corner of the screen. There's four buttons, each with a letter on it denoting its function.
