I feel that a big military force is necessary and that we very well could invade a bit of America or Russia (preferably America).
The problem now is that much of our lands are very little developed. The idea behind Plan A is not a bad one. But I feel it should allow the cities to develop a little more before we start pumping military units again. As an example I can mention Octavinium. It is currently producing a market and both Plan A and the revised version of Plan A want to change to Knight immidiatly (I may have misunderstood. If so please tell me.) Now it is only 4 turns left of the Market and afterwards it can start building Knights as I see it. Cities that has the necessary infrastructure can probably produce units, but I would like to see many of our cities develop some more.
Another thing that is important is our culture and corruption. In Rhineland I have 4 cities close to the Indian border that has none or very little culture. In addition, they loose all but 1 shield to corruption. If this is the situation in many other bordercities, I would advise the other governors to get libraries and courthouses up fast.
If the bordercities has little culture I fear they may fall to a culture flip at some time. The longer a cultural building stands, the more culture it generates, so I think libraries and temples should be built soon.
I must add that Goonie's idea is very interesting. As the situation is now I doubt we will get Military Tradition first, and thus another tech would be nice. This reminds of the ancient times. The AI is usually very slow to develop Mathematics and Currency. I use to get these techs fast, and then I am able to trade to me all the other techs the AI has. The problem would be to find a tech the AI is not researching and will beat us to.
