1. Does it matter when the space ship arrives at Alpha Centauri?
That is, do you get points for an early arrival? If not, then
is it better to wait to launch until the last minute and
work on city improvements and getting rid of rivals?

2. Does amount in treasury matter in final score? If not, then
what difference does it make whether you build city
improvements that you don't need or use the Capitalization
option?

3. What is the maximum capacity of the spaceship?

Thanks!

1. No. It will score the correct number of points whenever it arrives. For best results, aim your ship for a 2020 AD landing and just grow and fatten your cities (and the world in general).

2. No. Money in the bank is nothing to score. For that matter, city improvements aren't anything to score either by themselves. Improvements only add to score through how they create happy people, allow more people, prevent pollution, that sort of thing.

3. 40 000 people, or 400 points if you give it a 100% chance of success. This creation is something like 39 structurals, 16 components, and 16 modules (39-8-8-4-4-4), although I'm not completely sure on the exact construction of it.

Does anyone know what the minimal amount of structurals, components, and modules are for building a spacecraft that will have a 100% chance of success? And how long will it usually take to get to Alpha-Centauri (given the craft is fusion-powered)? I have seen the formula on a web site somewhere, but I don't remember where, and I didn't write it down.

Thanks!

Check around the forums here, this has come up before.

Off the top of my head, its:

13 Structural
4 Components (Two of each)
3 Modules (one of each)

In other words, about a third of the completed ship (39-16-9)
