Suuuuuuuuuure, wines give one additional food and sugar even two. The wine and sugar diet is very famous. Ethnologists even know some people who base their whole diet on sugar cane.
However, horses: No extra-food! WTF? Oh no, we poor completely urban, 21st century decadent whiners can't think about the fact that horses can really consumed. Poor little Fury! Probably Firaxis would get sued for causing psychological distress!!!!
