Modbuddy needs Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell, but the link no longer works!

Hi all,

I hope this is the right place to post this. If not, I'm sorry.

I've been using the SDK for years now but I recently got a new computer (Win 8) and had to reinstall all my games and steam. So when I tried to use Modbuddy I got the message that I needed to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Isolated) Redistributable.

I click YES, and it takes me to Microsoft's website to download it.

Only problem is, the website tells me the page I was looking for no longer exists.

I've googled alternative download sites for the Shell, but I've so far come up short.

My question now is...

Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone know where I can download the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Isolated)? I don't wanna give up making my own maps...

I just ran into the same problem. I spent 20 minutes installing the 2012 isolated shell redistributable. No effect. Same error message. As far as I can tell, the 2010 redistro is no longer available anywhere.

It's a long shot, but there might be some way to get what you need off your old computer and transfer it to the new one.

I still get a problem about the Shell missing a component anytime I try and launch Mod Buddy. I've tried reinstalling both the SDK and VSIso Shell multiple times and moving both to the same physical disk to no avail. Would be nice to be able to mod Civ 5 like the majority of people

I'm late the party - is there any hope of finding this piece of software I need to make/modify Civs and Units in Civ 5?
