:/ wtf did I just write

I have to ask WTF have the Falcons done to make themselves better than the Saints and their own improvements.

think I'm too late given the season started already but I'll edit this tomorrow anyway(though given what happened was exactly what I thought would happen means nothing changed)

With only sixteen games in a season and playoff races often coming down to one win more or less...getting selected for the 'honor' of getting sacrificed to the super bowl champion opening night buzz saw seems a bit harsh. I'm no Packer fan, but gee whiz ya gotta feel sorry for that.

NFC South is a crazy division that's fairly unpredictable year to year. So I'm trying to outsmart it by picking everyone's trendy pick to win it >_<

Falcons are the trendy pick? Rats. My usual approach to the NFC south is to throw out whoever won last year, and whoever the favorite is, and then toss a coin. But I thought the Saints were the hot pick.

Oddly enough I came out of that game frustrated but okay with it. I figured we'd lose, the scoreline was way worse than the game actually was, and once the defense and offense have had more time to gel, I have full confidence that we can go in there and beat Seattle at CenturyLink.

ahaha no i'm just hoping they lose enough road games to lose homefield

As long as Lacy is ok.

Seattle is playing good plus getting ALL the lucky bounces IMO. :scan:

Oh I see, that makes more sense I guess. The Bucs and Falcons are both trendy picks although as someone who lives in Atlanta most people around here would be surprised if they make it to .500 what with no Tony Gonzalez for the first time in Ryan's career, no Weatherspoon, no Sam Baker, Steven Jackson was basically DOA last year etc. I'm super biased as a Saints fan from Louisiana originally but I don't see any way they won't be monsters this year. They've got a much easier non-division schedule where the hardest game is probably @Chicago and they're basically unbeatable at home(16-0 in the last 16 home games Payton has actually coached in) as opposed to last year where they had to go to Seattle, St. Louis, Chicago and New England. Archie Manning said this might be the best Saints team in history and I'm inclined to agree with him. I'll believe the Bucs when I see a Lovie Smith team actually have an offense.

Anyway I've got:

AFC

AFC North

1. Bengals
2. Ravens (Wild Card)
3. Steelers
4. Browns

AFC South

1. Colts
2. Texans
3. Jaguars
4. Titans

AFC East

1. Patriots
2. Jets (Wild Card)
3. Dolphins
4. Bills (this franchise looks like a dumpster fire tbh)

AFC West

1. Denver Broncos
2. Chiefs
3. Chargers
4. Raiders

NFC

NFC North

1. Packers, not going anywhere in the playoffs tho until they stop wheeling out the corpse of Dom Capers each week. Should've been fired after the 2012 playoffs.
2. Bears (Wild Card)
3. Lions
4. Vikings

NFC South

1. Saints
2. Bucs
3. Falcons
4. Panthers

NFC East

1. Eagles
2. Giants
3. Cowboys
4. Redskins

NFC West

1. Seahawks
2. 49ers (Wild Card)
3. Cardinals
4. Rams

NFC Playoffs:

Bears @ Packers
Niners @ Eagles

Packers @ Saints
Niners @ Seahawks

Seahawks @ Saints (pick is based entirely on home field)

AFC Playoffs:

Jets @ Bengals
Ravens @ Colts

Colts @ Patriots
Ravens @ Broncos

Broncos @ Patriots

Super Bowl: Saints over Patriots.

I think the Seahawks looked pretty darn good last night but man, we need to get someone besides Earl Thomas back returning punts.

I think they could lose at home, and maybe to the Packers...but it can't be ignored that since they started the super bowl champions season opener on Thursday night none of them have lost. And frequently the games have been the kind of national television embarrassment that really get your season off on the wrong foot. I think under the circumstances the Packers acquitted themselves pretty well.

Those recurring injuries on the O-line might be an issue for them though.

Bulaga's out for 2-4 weeks. Given the pass-rushes that the Packers face over that time, I am not very concerned.
