Natural Wonder Mountains

Relatively new to civ 5 here. Anyone know if natural wonder mountains count as mountains for observatory/wonder purposes?

They are eligible for Observatories, but not for Neuschwanstein/Machu Picchu. As for the latter, if you do have a normal mountain within 2 tiles, there's a small chance the wonder will be built on the natural wonder. And it's hilarious.
