I just got a great prophet.
I can do 2 main things with him.
I can either build the Temple of Solomon or create a super-specialist.
I can do that in either my capital or second city.
I guess I can only get the Temple in the Holy city/capital though.
I am not going to get a tech or golden age.
Which is the best choice?
Judism is present in a few cities so that might be worth it.
The super specialists are good too and can give me more GP points and all that extra stuff.
The wonder is good too gives those also.
AHHH headache.
Any ideas?

Does having the Holy City or a shrine help relations?
The Jewish Germans next to me don't like my heatheness but if I build the Jewish shrine they might.
I have the Hindu wonder so 2 more neighbors who are hindu helps as well.

I noticed that the Temple counts as a world wonder rather than a national.
If national though I might put it in a different city to alleviate the limit.

P.S. Weird thing I did!
I was going to send a nice Hindu missionary to a Greek city.
Just as I got there I realized he wasn't a missionary but a great person!
It was really funny but I just sent him back.
Actually he was killed so I cheated and restored a few turns back using the excuse I didn't know what unit he was.
Yea that's it a good reason so it isn't a cheat!

P.P.S.
Oddly enough When he was right next to Athens I still got the same choices.
I'm not sure if the Greek religion shrine was possible or it was my own shrine in a different city and a bug.
I'll check up on that.
Maybe the game doesn't expect you to do such a thing.
I was wondering what would happen if I gifted it to him.
You'd think that particular free gift would make him go from even furious to friendly.
I know I might with such a powerful creature.
Though less than in civ3.

Definately Build the shrine asap. It gives you +1 gold in all cities with that religion, greatly increasing your revenue. It also helps spread that religion (great if its your state religion). You can only build it in the holy city of that religion, but if you get another religion founded in one of your cities you can build another shrine in that one.

If you can't do shrines I let him research some tech for me. Saves me the trouble of doing that. Or I keep him for a nice golden age.

hmff.. allways allways think before you use anything. Do you have a shot for the pyramids ? well maybe city super specialist is the way to go ? Do you play on a small map ? maybe a temple only will add 5 gold at max.. then its not a good idea. Can you research something good? If you can get 500 research beacons thats about equal to 100 turns of 5 gold per turn... Ofocurse there are cases where you want a temple, like when you can get 20-30 gold per turn and get a commercial powerhouse with banks, markets etc..

Unless you are on a small map, or are particularly isolated, the shrine is almost always the way to go. Actually, in my experience, Great Prophets are the most useless Great People except for their ability to make a shrine.

If you get one early enough you can usually use them to grab Theology well ahead of the AIs which'll give you another holy city somewhere.
