Recommended Game Speed With BNW

After a long run with Civ IV decided to pick up CiV Gold in addition to BNW. I played epic with IV, would Epic still be a good speed to play? Just wondering if the new mechanics of this game will be warrant otherwise.

I also liked to play Civ IV on Epic and Marathon, but for Civ V I play on Normal. Civ V just seems to play a lot slower than its predecessor (probably to increase the tactical play of one unit per tile).

Thanks. I also noted some saying that BNW seems to have slowed down the game pace a bit.
