Hi all, I'm a Civ newbie, having only played a few games of Civ 5, G+K, and now BNW.
I am playing as Spain in a Conquest of the New World-Deluxe scenario and ran into something that seemed strange: I tried to plunder an embarked Treasure unit with a Privateer, but even though I tried to do a melee attack, the Privateer pulled alongside (in an adjoining hex) and fired cannons rather than plunder in the normal method used for cargo ships.
I got a message that "a Dutch Treasure Ship has been sunk!" but that was all.
Am I doing something wrong, or maybe missed an upgrade for my Privateer?
My understanding was that one of the primary attractions / purposes of the embarked Treasure unit, from a gameplay perspective, was to be plundered by Privateers?
I must be missing something basic, but am too new to realize it. Thanks in advance for any help!
