how to add another era ?

i tried to add another era between ancient and classical era
but none are working ?
any ideas ?

or

how to add more tech column
its usually only 2 column of technology between era, how to add more column ? 3 or 4 tech column in the same era
trying here and there but i got only lag and unplayable game
any ideas ??
