I tried to change some xml entries for my BNW in x\dlc\expansion2\gameplay\assets and it didn't update when I restarted the game. Is it mandatory to use a mod saved in mydocuments/mygames ?

Wrong forum. And don't change anything! If you are, then back up or else you'll crash your game. Use the tools.
