VG Force NES

Marina will make easy work of those pesky vampires. Shake shake!

@Red, The Spy
Spoiler 1-Up Robberies :
You travel to the Super Mario Bros World, where the Mushroom Kingdom stands. While looking around the strange place, you asks someone where their boss is, since you are trying to help with the robberies. (Soul Easy, 4 Success) The first 'person' (some sort of weird crossing between man and mushroom) you find points you out towards the Mushroom Palace, telling you that Princess Toadstool is in there and should be able to tell you more. Before you part, he says "This ain't Bowser's work, he's more prone to kidnap the Princess than steal things. Still, I heard that a few Koopas were seen doing that."

The two of you move for the palace, trying not to be amazed at how magnificent the place is.
You enter the palace, and inside you find a young lady with long blonde hair, sitting on a throne while she speaks with another of these mushroom men, but this one has a mustache and small glasses. The woman sees you two, and she smiles.

"Oh, you must be the men sent to solve the problem with the robberies! I'm not sure if you know about me, but in any case, I am Princess Toadstool, the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. But, you, you are a bit young for this, don't you think?" she asks, pointing at you. You just shrug, preferring not to tell her you are actually sixteen and have braved lots of dangers in your world. (Soul Easy, 1 Success) She gets the gist of what you are trying to convey. "Well, if you feel up to the task, I don't see any reason to send you back." She looks at both of you. "Now, the mission. You may know that the 1-Up Factory is a few kilometers from here, and is one of the main businesses that bring wealth to our kingdom, as we supply the best 1-Ups in the entire Video Game Land. However, these last few nights, we have had some problems in there, as someone keeps getting in the factory and stealing boxes of 1-Ups before they are sent to their buyers. As you can imagine, this is making us lose a lot of money. If you can find the boxes and arrest the robbers, you'll be rewarded. If you have questions, you can ask the factory night watchman, he is probably there at the factory getting ready for the night. Go easy on him, please, he's taking it hard. And, here, have this map, it will show you the way." (You get a map of the Mushroom Kingdom)

The two of you nod, and leave the palace.

What you can do: Now, you can go to the factory and see if you find something strange or ask the watchman or you can do some tourism around the Mushroom Kingdom before going to the factory at night.

@Claude, Megaman
Spoiler Presidential Escort :
You ask someone where you can find the Presidential Residence. (Soul Easy, 4 Success) The person you ask immediately points you two in the right direction.

"Mega-thanks!" you reply.

You soon reach the palace, and are stopped by two men in black, asking for identification. (Soul Easy, 5 Success)

"We are here to mega-escort the President," you happily say. You look at him, hoping that the tic won't be used too much. One of the men in black steps back and says something through his walkie-talkie, before returning.

"He is coming this way, so, please, stay," he says. "You two are welcome to get some protection for your job, if you need it."

(You get a bulletproof vest. You don't need it, but you thank the man anyway)

A few minutes later, President Mike Haggar shows up.
"I've been told already about you two," he says, nodding to you. "I do not expect this to be too dangerous, but we are possibly going to some dangerous places, so be ready for anything."

A helicopter appears, and everyone gets on it. The chopper take the entire group to one of the gates, and as you cross it you find yourselves flying over a hospital roof.

"This is the Theme Hospital," one of the men in black tells you. "Many injured soldiers have been brought here from a nearby fight between our troops and some strange army that invaded a few days ago. Watch out for the strange illnesses you may find, lest you become ill yourself."

The chopper lands, and soon everyone is out of it, coming down the Hospital.

What you can do: you can remain at the President's side as he visits the people in the hospital, some of which come from the battle, or investigate the hospital for potential threats (there might be other things you can do, though...).

@Spymaster Komlin
Spoiler PI Required :
You pick one of the free transports from Nexus to Ace Attorney World. Once there, you ask someone to give you directions to Phoenix Wright's office. (Soul Easy, 5 Success) One person actually has to go meet him, so he invites you to ride his "car" with him. You feel very wary about the strange machine in front of you, but you decide it best to concentrate on the important things before going mad trying to figure it out.

When you arrive to the office, you find that there is a man in there, standing up.
"Hello, Mr Markson," he tells the man, then he looks at you. "And, you are?"

"My name is Komlin, young man," you reply. "I came here for the petition of someone to investigate a crime, I believe?"

"Oh, yes. In fact, you are in luck. Mr Markson is actually the person I am working for right now. He has been accused of stealing several priceless jewels, but he was framed, and I believe whoever is behind this might have doctored some recordings to make it look like it was Mr Markson here." You do not know what 'doctored some recordings' means, but you decide to wait for a later moment to ask that, since you understand the gist of the situation: the other man in the room has been falsely accused of stealing, and someone has made it look like he actually did it. "If you have any questions, I am at your disposal, and Mr Markson will be willing to answer any doubts about the situation. If you need any help in going out there and finding more details, I can find a friend that will be willing to tell you more. The trial is going to happen in a few days, so, if you can help, I would be grateful."

What you can do: you can go out there and investigate the robbery or ask Mr Markson for any clues he might have on who could be framing him.

@Marina Liteyears
Spoiler Vampire Sightings :
You rapidly travel to the Castlevania world, and as soon as you set a foot, you find there is a group of people shambling towards you. (Mind Easy, 3 Success) You easily determine that the people are actually dead, which makes little sense. Your computer brain associates this status with the word 'zombie', something that does not naturally happen in your world, but that Professor Theo, your creator, added to your vocabulary 'just in case'. Either way, you can easily determine that this 'zombie' is dangerous for humans, and you attack it.

(Body Easy, 7 Success) You jump over one of the zombies and grab it by the head, throwing it against its fellow zombies and knocking out a few of them. You then throw a rock you find on the ground towards them, hitting one of them. You grab a trunk and easily deal with all of the rest. A few seconds later, they all disappear, leaving a few coins behind. (You get 10 GP)

You finally reach the town, and you immediately call the attention of the townspeople due to your colorful clothes, as opposed to the drab colors of their own vestiments. One of them, who wears slightly better clothes, approaches you.

"You are the person from Nexus?"

"Yes," you say. "What is the exact problem? And how can I solve it?"

"There are many vampires taking our people every night, and we can't seem to find a way to really stop them. We need someone to take care of them. Would you be kind to do it?"

"Of course!" you reply.

What you can do now: you can find clues about the vampires, investigate around to see if you can find something else about them or begin your search for the vampires.

Vampires, eh? They sound a lot nastier then a bunch of Clancers. Let's investigate further for any more info on them!

Flower Master of the Four Seasons Yuuka Kazami (Gensōkyō [東方Project: Lotus Land Story/ Phantasmagoria of Flower View]) / Bair_the_Normal

Body / Mind / Soul: 6/8/1
Techmagic Balance: 4
Initial Weapon: The most glorious Parasol. It shoots mass amounts of colorful danmaku and Master Sparks.
Initial Abilities: Notable for her ability to manipulate plants [particularly flowers]. One of the oldest beings in Gensōkyō, Yuuka is the progenitor of one of the most feared and ridiculously over-dakka'ed spells in the whole land: the dreaded Master Spark. Without going into further detail, it's simply a gigantic, slow-moving laser. She, like a majority of Gensōkyō's populace, can apply mass quantities of danmaku to enemies and areas where and when deemed necessary.
Initial Problems: Ultimate Sadistic Creature. It's also important to mention that good old Yuuka is slower than a snail. In tandem with Yuuka's brute force, she also tends to rush into most situations firing off Master Sparks.
Backstory:
-Born several hundred years ago.
-Fought and killed a variety of youkai, Lunarians, and petty humans.
-Messed around and cultivated flowers for a few centuries, stopping only to kill various intruders.
-In 1885, fellow youkai Yukari Yakumo comes to Yuuka with a proposition: to join her in separating the world of the youkai from that of the humans, creating the new Gensōkyō. Yuuka finds it fun and agrees.
-Various antics ensue, including the creation of a personal dreamworld for Yuuka and her flowers, Mugenkan, and the viewing of various flower over-bloomings that occur every sixty years, most of which [the antics, that is] are rudely interrupted by a young, upstart shrine maiden and a trigger-happy, over-excited ordinary magician who oh-so discourteously stole Yuuka's Master Spark.
-She still raises flowers by the millions.
Sprite:

Spoiler :

Also just for immediate video game verification:

Komlin firstly asks Wright to give a brief overview of the case and how the justice system works in this world, as he is sure that it would be different to what he is used to.

Once Wright has explained this to Komlin, Komlin will then ask Mr. Markson if he has any enemies, as only they would frame someone like.

@Bair_the_Normal: ... Holy s**t, man. That was certainly weird. Though, you obviously didn't understand what I meant with "sprite". Anyway, welcome to VG Force, Yuuka! (Also, can someone finally get a freakin' magician? We might need someone that knows how to heal others)

@Red, The Spy, Komlin, Marina: your choices have been noted.

Claude will stay by the President's side.
Claude was hired for protecting the president, not something else.

@Red, The Spy
Spoiler 1-Up Robberies, 2 :
The two of you decide to go straight to the factory, since there is little you think you might be able to do around the palace. It is just four kilometers away, which, for two people well used to walking around, is fairly easy to cover in less than an hour.

You decide to check on the physical evidence left behind by the robbers. (Medium, 11 Success / 3 Success) You find many footprints around, obvious signs of the workers and perhaps the investigators, but there are also a few things that may have passed the latter's attention: a small green scale, strange brown hairs, a few small feathers in one side... all of these are in the same room, but hidden behind boxes or in the corners. You check around, and you see that there are several possible entry paths for the robbers: it does not matter if many of them are real high, or barred: given the company you keep, any of those would be easy to break through.

The watchman appears.

"Hey, who are you?" he asks, clearly annoyed.

(Easy, Success 4) "We are the people the Princess hired to find out who is stealing the 1-Ups," you say.

"Oh, great. Finally, someone that might believe me when I say the truth!"

"What do you mean?"

"Every night, every night for twenty years, I've been working as the night watchman in this factory! I always make sure that all doors are well closed, and that the windows are intact, and I never repeat my patrols, but suddenly the factory is getting robbed in ways I am sure are impossible and who gets blamed? Me, the watchman!"

You look at him, unable to know what to do to calm the man down. You shrug. You are the only one that speaks at all, though, so you have to try.

"What can you tell me about the robberies?"

The watchman tells you everything he knows, an speech intersped with sentences about ungrateful bosses and low pay that is not worth the effort he puts every night. Basically, the robbers seem to get in every night a few hours after the factory closes, and then they get out two or three hours later. Neither the doors nor the windows ever open or close, but he always knows when the robbers leave, because, when they do, there is a strange sound, and when he enters the factory always half of the 1-Ups are missing.

"You can stay tonight, and then you'll see what I mean!" he finishes.

What you can do: basically, prepare for this night's attack.

@Claude, Megaman
Spoiler Presidential Escort, 2 :
Since you have decided to stay next to the President, the first few hours are quite boring. The president meets several ill people and injured soldiers from the Nexus militia. While you remain silent through the whole affair, you are far more effusive, and always tell people to get mega-better. Probably, some of the doctors that are escorting the President are wishing you were not a robot, so that they could pump you full with tranquilizers.

Things change when you get to the second floor, though. Some sort of creature jumps at the President, carrying a knife and shouting something strange.

(Medium Body, 4 Success, 7 Success) The two of you manage to point your weapons at the creature. Your shot strikes him straight on its chest, while you pump it with bullets from your 9mm.

"An assassin from the invading army!" one of the men in black supplies. "They must be nearer than we thought."

As if on cue, explosions begin to sound nearby. The war is coming near here.

What you can do: Protect the President!

@Spymaster Komlin
Spoiler PI Required, 2 :
(Easy Mind, 7 Success) Your question to Phoenix Wright is soon followed with a long explanation on the workings of the justice system in his world, that you absorb easily thanks to your mind, well trained for these situations. He also explains that Mr Markson has been accused of stealing the jewels from Mrs Urkian's mansion two weeks ago, and that there is a recording that apparently shows Mr Markson running away from that house with a bag. The jewels have yet to appear, but one of the detectives in charge of the case has already been around Mr Markson's place several times, thinking he'll catch him with the jewels. As for Mr Markson, he swears up and down that he was at the other side of the city in his vehicle, but apparently, since no one can remember that, he has no witnesses.

(Easy Soul, 7 Success) "What can you tell me about who would have framed you, Mr Markson? Any enemies? People that would benefit from your going to prison?" you ask the man.

He sighs. "Not too many. There's my ex-wife, who hates my guts for no real reason at all. She might be able to take some of my properties as alimony. Also my business associates, some of whom would love to get their hands on my shares in my company. And maybe one or two people I had in my company that I had fired because they were lazy and did not work."

You nod. There is enough information for you to begin pulling.

What you can do: you can start to investigate the circumstances of the crime or interrogate the people Mr Markson has said may benefit from his going to prison.

@Marina Liteyears
Spoiler Vampire Sightings, 2 :
(Easy Mind, 2 Success) You ask the town leader for any information he might have about the vampires, telling him you do not know much about them. He tells you that they only come out at night, feed on human blood (they normally leave the person an empty husk that later becomes a vampire, but sometimes they do find someone that has managed to survive the attack) and are incredibly strong and fast. Some of them have mystical powers, and are capable of raising corpses, both the recently dead and those that have been so for much time. Zombies and skeletons, he calls them. Your computerized brain rapidly absorbs the information.

Weaknesses? Holy things, mostly, although fire and blunt force also work. The Belmonts have proven that quite well, although there are rumors that the whip they use to fight the vampires is not a normal whip. They tend to keep to themselves in the day, as the sun harms them much, so they hide in crypts and caves, of which there are many around the town: if you attack now that the sun is up, they will probably feel sluggish, and thus more vulnerable to your attacks. He knows little else, but he feels that those things are more than enough to deal with the vampires. You thank him and leave.

What you can do now: guess what? You get to play with the vampires!

Important Note: you do not only have to say what you are going to do. This is a NES, after all. If you feel like writing stories about what you do, or what you think, then it is a help (as I suggested to ChineseWarlord, who could write a story to stop Megaman from adding the 'mega-" prefix to his speech). Also, you can begin to write your story of what will happen in the update to facilitate things for me.

Claude pulls out his rifle. Things are getting serious.

I put both default sprites for Yuuka. The first for LLS and the second for PoFV.

On an aside, Yuuka will assist the Archivist on his chronicling journey.

Megaman prepares his Megabuster and takes aim at the creature nearest to Hagar. He also switches off the "Mega prefix AI he had Dr. Light install as a joke. He just realized that people actually find it kind of annoying.

@Claude, Megaman
Spoiler Presidential Escort, 3 :
(Medium Mind, 1 Success) You manage to deactivate the protocols Dr Light installed in your mind to make you add "mega-" at every fifth word, but it is such a rushed job that you cannot be sure if you have made it permanent.

You decide to leave it for other moment and ready your megabuster to hit anything that tries to attack you. You pull out your rifle and load it, also prepared for the job.

"We must evacuate, Mr President," one of the men in black says. "Should that army come this way, we cannot guarantee your safety."

You can tell that President Haggar wants to remain here and fight whoever is coming this way, but he figures that his presence can put other people in danger, so he allows himself to be carried away. You follow him, keeping an eye on your backs to ensure no one follows you. There is no problem until you reach the top of the building.

(Medium Body, 5 Success, 4 Success) A lucky missile (or not) strikes the helicopter that was to take you away from the hospital. You two manage to pull President Haggar behind you just as the explosion happens. You are all blown away, but manage to land within the roof. (-10 HP, -12 HP)

"Well, that's it," You say. "What do we do now?"

"We must reach the main portal," one of the men in black, bleeding, tells you. The other is still on the ground, with great injuries that make it clear he won't be able to do much more.

"Gentlemen, you two cannot come with us," the President says. "You clearly need urgent care."

"Who is going to protect you, Mr President? Them?" the man in black asks.

"These two. They are doing a good job. And you can always return to your positions later. Don't worry, I am sure they will be able to do their jobs well."

What you must do now: Escort the President to the Portal!

@Yuuka
Spoiler History of Video Game Land, 1 :
You travel to the office where the Archivist works, and you open the door.

"Mornin', lass," the little... thing says. Even though he is more like a 'smiley' than a normal being, you know he is a stocky being, that likes camel meat, cow eye and needs alcohol to get through the day.

(Easy Soul, 0 Success) "What are you?" you ask.

He glares at you. "I'm a Dorf, lass. From Dorf Fortress. I'm trained in book-keepin' and accountancy, but I left it when it became too hard. You won't believe how hard it is to take account of every stone used in the construction of a magma cannon."

You do not know what to make out of this commentary, so you decide to go straight to the reason you are here.

"I actually came here to speak about the job offer."

"Oh, finally someone cares about this! No one cares anymore about the story of our people! Seriously, what is wrong with the video games that no one thinks it is important to work on them, to study their ancestors and know how they worked..."

You tune him out as he rambles for several minutes, before he finally stops and looks back at you.

"So, you want to help me investigate the old times? Well, I have a list of places I would like you to go and find anything that may help me fill up the history of videogames. These are the four places I'd like you to go," he says, throwing a paper ball at you. (Easy Body, 6 Success). You manage to catch it easily, and open the paper.

Tetris
PacMan
M.U.D.
California Games

"Just go to those places and find documents that I can use, but if you find something extra it will be nice. Now go! I need to keep planning the outline of this book!"

What you can do now: Go to either of the four game worlds.

I was sure I sent orders for this I'm sorry :blush:

Komlin asks for the address of his Markson's ex-wife's house, the address of the crime scene and Markson's business address (so he can find information on fired employees). He also asks if he could borrow some money so he can pay the "captains of the horseless carriage".

After Komlin gets to the crime scene, he will snoop around for clues. If there is anyone there he will attempt to interview them about the crime.

Claude gets up, after the explosion. He's seen worse, believe me.

Funfact: In GTA III , the player and even NPCs can simply cancel an incoming rocket from a rocket launcher by shooting at it. The amount of skill and luck required vary; many discover it by noticing that , when playing, your own rockets don't hit or explode at all if they get hit by an incoming enemy bullet, which can be very annoying, since your health goes down fast and rocket launchers are expensive. This is especially blatant in GTA San Andreas, where one mission requires the player to shoot enemies from a helicopter. One of the enemies shoots a heat-seeking rocket, which can be easily "canceled" or deflected away with one bullet (doing so is useless anyway; the explosion of the helicopter is scripted, so even if you deflect the rocket back at the attacker, the heli will still go down.)
