Modern World Simulacrum:
A Mod that will try to represent the current world situation.

I plan on vastly increasing the amount of Improvements/Wonders in the Scenario, and giving them all nice Graphics.

Wow!
Cool idea.
Personally, I think that the EU countires should just be in a locked alliance, and it should start with US troops in Afghanistan, but not controlling it, just inhabiting it, in a right of passage or somethig (if that's possible to start a scenario like that).
But if you do join Afghanistan with US, you should split France and Germany.
Also, would this require a load of new leaderheads, or are you just going to use flags?
Anyway, love to see this made and hope it goes well!:D

Please please please don't lump Ireland and the UK together. We differ economically, culturally, and pretty much everything-else-ally. I mean, I can understand it's a world scenario and we're not that important on the grand scale of things, but an EU nation would be far more sensible than a "UK and Ireland combined" nation.

Agreed. ;)

Quinzy and Stormrage
I'll see :) what I can do.
I'm planing on redoing the Civ lineup.
The one currently posted is the one put together by the makers of the old World 2004 scenario. that I'm using as framework for mine.

georgestow
I'm rather unsatisfied with uniting all of Europe into one "EU" Civ, as it brings up endless problems.

Example: should the EU have as its MBT the Leopard 2, the Leclerc, the Challenger 2, or some other tank.

On the other hand it is pointless to put even the major countries of EU (France, Italy, Gremany, etc...) into the game, as they are all part NATO as well, and would have to be in Locked Alliance with each other, thus becoming be a dead end when it comes to gameplay.

As for Afghanistan, what you suggest is whats currently implemented in the scenario. However if they are locked into alliance, Afghanistan still demands that the US immediately remove it's troops.

As it doesn't add anything vital to gameplay as a Civ, and would be small and weak, I think that maybe be better to remove it and use the free slot for someone else, Kazakhstan for example.

Well... Over a Hundred Views and only :(:( Three people have left Posts.
Doesn't anybody have Question, Suggestions, or Ideas to post?

I need to know what you think about my Mod, in order to make changes and Improvements to it.

There's not a whole lot to go by, a list of civs...

You have to start people's creative juices flowing, filling out those reserved would be a good place to start. :)

Some ideas

I haven't played World 2004, but how about

1/change 'barbarians' to 'religeous extremists' (to imitate extremists popping up anywhere, rather than being confined to a geographic starting point)

2/ have a technology path that focusses on environmental tech improvements. Maybe an 'space race victory' could be replaced by building the techs that result in 100% carbon neutral empire.

I'd be interested in playing something like this, so I'll think about it some more.

Thanks :).
I've just posted the current Unit and Buildings list, hopefully that will attract some attention

Thanks for the Ideas.
I like the ideas about making the environmental movement play a bigger part in the Scenario.
Although I'm think that I'll probably make the 'Space Race Victory' a Race to put the first Man onto Mar's.

As for the 'Religious Extremists', I already have a very interesting Idea on how they can be put into the Scenario.
Here it is the Basic outline:

Terrorists:
Terrorists will be Auto-Produced by Improvements/Wonders, that will be Preplaced in the Cities of Nations that have a History of harboring, supporting, or sponsoring them.

They will be flagged as Hidden Nationality, Cruise Missiles, and will be able to hit anywhere on the Map.

Terrorist Masterminds:
Terrorist Masterminds will be preplaced "Barbarian Units" under nobodies control.
They will be invisible to all Units except Spies and Special Forces.
They will have the ability to "Bombard" any square on the Map, some will even be to do this multiple times per-turn.

However, the Terrorist Masterminds will have no Attack or Defence points, and will be immobile, and you will be able to capture him.

If you then bring him to your Capital, you will put him on "Trial" which will produce a load of VP's for your Civ.
Capture enough Masterminds and you can declare a "Victory in the War on Terror"!

But be warned, while the Masterminds are themselves helpless, they will be defended by a Terrorist Stronghold Unit.

The Terrorist Strongholds:
The Terrorist Stronghold will be Invisible, Immobile, and will have no Attack Points.
But they will have a HUGE HP bounce, and very strong Defense Points.

This will represent the fact that Terrorists are usually brainwashed extremists, who will defend their Leaders without thought to their own lives.

i think you add in su-30/mki bc its a really good fighter jet

also, how about some cool futuristic units? like the ones that look like halo soldiers for future techs.

and for terrorists, maybe "pirate boat" or "pirates" also as barbarians to place around somalia and other places.

btw, wht r the dif governments?

another question, i dont have the time right now to go through the list, but are there UN peacekeepers? if so, how will they operate w/right of passage? if there are then that would be very realistic.

Okey, I have made some new Changes/Additions to the Mod:

Replaced the Pedia Icon's for the BMP-1, they were missing for :dunno: some reason.

Added the Olifant MBT for South Africa.

Added new grathics for India's Vijayanta MBT.

And a pair of new graphics for the Chinese J-7 and J-10 Fighters.

Hello

One question: will we be able to generate random maps, or will there be a fixed map?

I'm editing the world 2004 v1.1 scenarior for CivIII and i posted there a few ideas I think could be usefull for the work you doing in here.

No more polish state
Represent the increased power of the developing world by nerfing europe.
Kerp european state both separate (but locked in an alliance) to rapresent the little coordination in foregn policy there is ATM ( and also allow to easily split the alliance path for users that will play the scenarior fighting withing europe, changin the alliance in editor is easy for elmost everyone, splitting a country in 2 not)
Implement Egypt? (nice for israely/palestine war of this day but hard to make becouse fo suez channel)
Implement somalia? more realismt in africa and a very nice occasion to use UN troups (but still to think about how to make it work smooth
The war in georgia shown that there is space there for some new nike implements.
Plague... it is old.... fashion but if you rename it credic crunck and make it hit hard the pocket...

First 2009.bic will be available in february, please take a look and let me know what you think.
