Every attempt to start a new game or load this autosave instantly results in that pop-up and a prompt crash of the game. Nice.

I have the same problem with almost the same error code:

Unhandled Exception Code: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION Error reading address 0x0 Call Stack

I verified the game cache once and it replaced some files -- still have the same problem. Verified again and no files replaced yet still have the same error.

Same error, but I got it immediately on starting a game.
The game files verified without problems

Same here, every attempt to get to the normal start screen ends with exact the described error.
No fun so far. 2K fix this major bug now.

EDIT: I found a custom DLC, that was responsible for this specific error. After deleting the custom DLC, the game runs well.

Sorry 2K, it was my fault.

Custom dlc? Listed where?

Just speculating, but he may be referring to the BE version of bc1's Enhanced User Interface mod (which is implemented as a DLC).

It's really simple, I was looking for a fix like 3 days xD, well you go to Civilization Beyond Earth, Right-click, (on steam) Properties. Then to Local files, and then verify integrity of game cache, it takes ~30sec and then its fixed. Well this worked for me and I had the same crash

I wouldn't post on here if I hadn't already tried this :(

Same here. Can setup the game, then the load screen appears and after a few seconds comes the unhandled exception. I have tried everything, from repair to new installation, nothing helped... :(

Edit: I fixed it by uninstalling the game and manually deleting every Civ BE Folder. After that I reinstalled the game and now it works!

Unhanded exception errors
Plays movie then does not load further

Thanks to broesel1234
Reminding me of Standard newb tier one troubleshooting, uninstall, delete all, reinstall...

(Epiphany) I have not tried to delete the game settings and ini's in my docs fldr.. maybe if someone else has that error try that before the big blowout and reinstall...

>>So, I began my first game in RT and 32 turns in I get this<<

I just realized you are in 32 turns (THIRTY TWO ).. lets see how this goes...

EDIT Turn 166 and doing good, except for the huge MAKURA that appeared Hollywood style just as I was about to run an expedition on a mysterious alien skeleton. Explorer and their marine escort were forced to scatter.

I tried uninstalling and removing all game files and installed it again.
But I still got the same error.

I'm getting the same thing, but not all games do it.

I'd upload my save game files so that people could see that it is a file corruption issue, but I don't know how to do this on this forum.

I've played through without any problem and then I've crashed on turn 20 - 40.

I don't know if it's because I was trying to play the Chinese chick or that I was trying out a frozen world.

Anyway if someone wants to try out the save. That's fine by me. If it crashes on you, it's a file corruption issue, not a computer issue.

guys to fix this is you need install the game and move the content of RT to the original CivBE folder

HOW
1.install the dlc in your games folder(only in games not games/civbe folder)
2.go to RT folder and copy everything, then go to the program x86/civbe folder and then paste and replace.
