I don't have any EP's yet and I'm gonna wait until BNW to get both of them. I want all of the civs included in G&K aswell as BNW.

Doesn't Gold edition come with both vanilla and G&K? I already have the base game.

It does. When I bought Civ V (funnily enough it was the PAX panel I was watching for XCOM: EU information that focussed on BNW which convinced me to buy ...) the Gold Edition was cheaper than the G&K expansion on it's own.

Note that this is still true, but only just: http://www.greenmangaming.com/search/?q=civ+v

Yes normal gold edition has them both.
There is however a separate gold upgrade.

You'll still get more for your money with all the DLC. I would do it if I were you.

Then you are still missing the G&K civs and scenarios, in addition to G&K itself. BNW will include most (if not all) of the G&K mechanics (religion, espionage, combat changes, etc.), but not the G&K civs or scenarios. If you put G&K on your Steam wishlist, it should come up sometime on a deeply discounted sale before BNW comes out.

Well, the problem with that is I already own all of the DLC in the gold edition. I bought it when it first came out, before G&K.
Are you confusing GOTY edition with the Gold Edition? The latter of which came out *after* G&K.

Brave new world has the new religion and espionage mechanic that where introduced at gods and king so You only get the new civs and new scenario's from the expansion.

9 new civs =
austria
netherlands
Huns
Maya
Sweden
Byzantium
ethiopia
celts
carthage
