CitiNES: How to Run A Nation!

From: Russell Zhang
To: Philip Redthwaite

We agree. We propose we found Sublime Liberal Party for Eternal Prosperity and the Supreme Benefit of All Unitaria (the Liberals for short) on these principles:

A Written Constitution with a Bill of Rights
Liberal Democracy
Free and Fair Elections
Human Rights
Free Trade
A Market Economy

To Jacob Lantern, and Brian Doctorate
From Alexander Bukharin

I extend an invitation to my comrades to form a United Democratic-Socialist Labor Party.

To Russell Zhang
From Philip Redthwaite

We can agree to all of that, if we can add

Universal education
Secular government
Social security (i.e. state pension and unemployment benefit)
Improved working conditions
Universal adult suffrage

Yes, our ideologies differ, but we are both for the fundamental well-being of workers everywhere. I will voice my support for your new party, together we will bring true equality to this nation.

OOC: What kind of stats am I supposed to get as a political activist?

Then I suppose I will run for Congress.

Could I still have an idea of the Military status of our state?

Important Notice
The elections will be at the end of NEXT turn, so don't spend all your money in one place. You will get more funding (depending on how many fundraisers you do- from 15%-50% of your starting funds).

I will be putting up a list of topics that the people are interested in.
The Military- Should we keep it or disband it? (I will say this, BE VERY CAREFUL!)
The Debt Crisis- 75% of GDP
The Looming Recession- Due to the return of many soldiers home, reduced industrial demand and the loss of a free imperial market

You are an eternal campaigner, you really don't get stats until you start fundraising, you can run for office or perhaps try to lead by 'less legimate' means. Its your money so you can do whatever you want with it.

I'd like to hire you as my campaign manager. Do you accept?

To: Alexander Bukharin
From: Brian Doctrate

This would be most beneficial.

To:Emmanuel Valentine
From: The Independence Chronicle

The people have fallen in love with you, and they wish to know more, would you like to write an op-ed (opinion editorial) for this sunday on what you will do to restart the economy, and will you take orders from the new federal government?

(Writing an op-ed can get you ahead, but if you make an unpopular or unfounded statement, you will see a drop in your numbers)

To:James Callahan
From: The Heartland Journal

Now that you have declared your candidacy, would you like to write an op-ed on what we should do to restart our industry?

To: Russell Zhang
From: The Orderton Record

The Governor has refused us an op-ed, we would like to offer it to you, who knows? You might even get yourself an endorsement.

To: Other Congressional Candidates for the Northwestern Province
From: Brian Doctrate

We would be willing to have a debate with you, if you wish?

NPC:
William Johnson (Libertarian) running for the Northwestern 27th
I will attend your debate, if you pay for it.

From: Brian Doctrate
To: William Johnson

Pitiful. I shall pay, chose your place and time.

In 7 Months, closer to the election (next turn). I will enjoy embarrassing you in front of all your leftist followers.

Mr. Valentine will not only write an editorial, but he will give a blazing speech on the Capitol.

He would also like to announce the beginnings of a new Conservative party, to be based in Southerland, which he is constructing as we speak.

Next turn; we can devide the cost 50:50. Shall we invite other candidates?

OOC: @ 1stcitizen: what other NPC parties and candidates are running in Westernia?

To Philip Redthwaite
From Alexander Bukharin

70:30. You are after all much wealthier than myself. It's only just that those who are more able to pay, bear a larger share of the burden.

To Alexander Bukharin
From Philip Redthwaite

Alright, in principle, depending on the other candidates invited, if any.
