Hi guys I am new to the Forums so sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section.

I have been playing a game on CIV5 with all the DLCs and some mods. The game had been fine, I had loaded the saves a few times fine but then all of a sudden I could not load it. When I pressed load game It came up with the leader screen and then a message saying that Civ5 is not responding. I have a lot of my spare time into this and do not want to have to restart. Does anyone know how I could fix this?

Here is a list of mods I am using:

This mod is in my subscriptions list on the steam workshop page but does not show up in the mods ingame

Thanks in advance

I don't see a save file.

Its been fine up until now. I tried a save I had opened fine before and all of a sudden it crashes at the screen with the leader your playing as.

Hmm, without stating the obvious have you tried checking the integrity of the game files via the drop down menu on Steam?
Failing that I have no idea, sorry.

You mean verifying integrity of game cache? Yes I have tried that.

What exactly are you meaning by this sentence?
  1. You had been using the mod, but now it is no longer showing on your list of available mods in the MODS menu?
  2. You have it subscribed but have not ever actually enabled it in the MODS menu?
  3. To which mod are you referring?
Trouble-shooting hint(s):
  1. after you select the save game but before you click the LOAD SAVED GAME pushbutton, there will be a clickable word "MODS" showing towards the bottom of the window under the leader, saved filename, etc.
    • click on the word MODS, and it will bring up a listing of all mods required to run the saved game, along with the required version number of each mod. Compare this list with what you have enabled and available in the MODS menu. (sometimes you need to write it down on a notepad to keep track of it all)
  2. If even one of the required mods from the list is not present in the list of available mods, or you have accidently updated it to a higher version number than the one you were using when the savegame file was created, you are done, there is not much you can do at that point.
    • Re-downloading will generally not work because now the mod load-order will be out of sequence, and any mod-added units, buildings, policies, resources, etc, will not be in their proper order, and will be corrupted in terms of what buildings, wonders, units, etc., are located where on the main map or in cities. The city build-qeues will also usually be corrupted.
  3. If a mod somehow got unchecked in the MODS menu, you can usually re-click the 'enable' button for that mod and everything will be fine so long as the previous item number is not true.
  4. I have experienced one or two occasions where Steam 'stole' a mod out from under me mid-game. For some reason I have never figured out, it appears Steam was trying to re-download one or more mods, and in so doing the mod got corrupted and all I had was an empty folder instead of a full mod.
  5. Mods are all sent to individual folders within the larger folder generally found at: Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS

Moderator Action: Moved to Creation & Customization

I had a look in the MODS folder and all of the different mods have folders of their own except for the ones that never showed up in game (RED modpack and Canada). There are also a few that are not in the folder at all

Have you checked the size of your save game ? (it's in ...\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\ModdedSaves\single)
