CLASSICAL - Legion - Decent tanker, this unit still good holding pike

MEDIEVAL - Longbowman - Extra range promotion is very great

RENAISSANCE - Jannisary - Bloodthirsty fighter

INDUSTRIAL - Carolean - Because of March promotion, best tanker ever

MODERN/ATOMIC - B17 - with Bombard I as starting, can go get air repair straight with only armory

Ancient - Horse Archer, ancient era version of keshiks, that however can't move after attacking, BUT in it's era it is crazy powerhouse.

Classical - Legion, if i have horse archer, i don't really need horseman replacement to my team, legion is good tanking unit.

Medieval - Chu-Ko-Nu, double attack, double xp, nuff said.

Renaissance - Janissary, would be nice to upgrade Legions into longswords and then janissaries.

Industrial - Carolean, because janissary's heal bonus and carolean's march promotion = powerhouse

Modern - Foreing legion, read my Industrial era's choice, and also add bonus when outside of my territory = UNBEATABLE :king:
 
Ancient: Even though it wasn't offered, I'm choosing the Khan as my Ancient era unit. A civilian medic unit that buffs the strength of nearby units? Yes please.

Classical: Mohawk Warrior, simply as a resourceless way to upgrade my Warriors.

Medieval: Keshik, although I do wonder how useful Keshiks are with only 4 movement.

Renaissance: Janissary.

Industrial: Carolean.

Modern: B17.
 
Something like with with a lot of promotions carrying over. Maybe with mounted unit instead? Might have been better.

- Battering Ram - because if you get a hut to upgrade a warrior to a ram, you can tear through your neighbors liek nobody's business


CLASSICAL
- Mohawk Warrior - The only real competition in the era is the Legion, but I'll go with the MW because it's resourceless and carries its upgrades to the next level

MEDIEVAL
- Conquistador - THere is a lot of good UUs in this era, but I'll go with my game favorite here. I love love love using it to settle cities

RENAISSANCE
- Janissary - THe self-healing beast

INDUSTRIAL
- Carolean - Another self-healing beast

MODERN/ATOMIC
- Foreign Legion - Very useful for late-game offense

+20% outside friendly territory on top of the previous bonuses

Ignores terrain cost and double movement in forest and jungle and +1 movement

Amphibious upgrade

Heals 25hp after killing an enemy, but heals regardless every turn

Not even taking into account the barracks/armory and wonder promotions you might get. You'd have absolutely monstrous infantry by the end of the game.
