I am suffering nostalgia for an era I never knew... can you help me find more cars that would fit into the following genre? Sadly, my knowledge of American automobile history is lacking.
I'll post some representatives to make description easier. The era is late 1940s to early 1960s. It should look funky, be fast enough, and rugged enough to race through a sand-blaster
Top: Daimler 'Dart'
Release: 1959, Origin: UK
Traditional manufacturers of luxury limousines, Daimler, sufferred a poor reputation for reliability towards the end of the 1950s. New managent at BSA sought desperately to re-establish confidence and break into new markets.
Daimler took on the challenge of transfering their existing style onto a smaller sports car. The result was a gawky be-finned tail, with frog-like frontal grill and pop-eye headlights.
Middle: MG MGA
Release: 1955, Origin: UK
Its biggest market was the USA, where a no-frills highly responsive testosterone pumped sportscars were highly sought after in the 1950s, especially among WW2 veterans. By the time 100,000 cars were produced, and had saturated their own niche market, the lack of interior comforts weighed heavilly against the prospect of future sales.

Release: 1955, Origin: USA
No information available. It's the closest American-built match I have found.
