Western Expedition! General Survey.

Over the past few days, Epimethius came up with a plan to intervene on behalf of Germany in the Sino-German War. For my part, while being pessimistic about Germany's chances, I saw an opportunity to establish a foothold in the other continent.

This poll is to determine whether or not the citizens, in principle, favor either of these general plans: Intervention to save Germany from China, Establishing a base on the other continent, both, or neither.

This is to get prepatory action ready for this comming TC. In other words, for the next 100 years, we would be getting our ducks in a row and making the ships we need to go West. The following TC would be the one to execute whichever plans we have decided upon, if they can still be executed.

@ SD3 Why do you have so many stuff-ups with putting up polls? Why isn't this a public poll?

i like the idea someone said of making a city(s) in former indian territory, we would only need to send settlers and protection (4 pikemen for a city, it will be hard to reinforce so will need a large garrison) but it wont hinder a possiable war to the south.

I'm all for colonizing any gaps left due to previous wars, but I do not want to see us take an active part in any war there.

Why should we do the German guarantee? Because it is easy NO, Because it is challenging for the Demogame YES. I want an end to shooting sitting ducks.

I think this should have been multiple choice, because I am for any of the top four.

It would be nice idea to save Germans but I don't see how would we do it with current technology. By the time we can do anything China will eliminate them. I don't want to give them a city on our continent and war with China would be bad idea. The only reason we should save them would be to get their vote in UN council.

Plans to make colonies are great, love them . I have decided to join pacifists this game for many reasons, only defensive wars and espionage.. And to hope that next demogame will be @ Emperor level.

I think we can help rescue the Germans without engaging the Chinese in battle. Just send a peacekeeping force to protect Germany's remaining cities.

There is not really an option for this, so I lumped my answer with Option #1. And I am in favor of a colony either way.

Getting a colony will not help us, unless that colony is Berlin and a port city. It would serve no purpose (since when we would be able to trade through it we wouldn't need it) and would be way too corrupt. So I say help the Germans and take Berlin and a port in return, or wait until we're better fit to shove our noses in everyone's business.
