TERM IV -THE FRONTIER TOWN OF KAGEMUSHA - THE LAW NORTH OF KENKAWA



Having been exiled to the Franconian Frontier in the Desert town of Kagemusha, the former Roman town of Viroconium, the old Provolution decided to settle down in the dusty pioneer town Kagemusha, in the middle of the desert town of Kagemusha. This exiled outpost on the very rim of the young Japanatican Empire had very limited growth potential, surrounded by sands in all directions, with the Zulus and the French nations next by. Kagemusha was a rowdy town, with a very violent population of smugglers, travellers, traders, drinkers, gamblers, prostitutes, cowboys and in general some of the troubled souls of Japanaticanized Romans. These Kagemushians continued the corrupted Roman legacy of hedonism and militarism, and Provolution felt right at home, setting up his local mocj court in a Saloon. Kagemusha was named after a beautiful actress, Yoko Kagemusha, who served as a double for the Japanatican Empress, Mitsuko Fanatikku, an actress Provolution was very fond of.

The Court in Kagemusha was ruled by the book, the revolver and a small Panda, named Tumbler, that supposedly was drinking the local brew, Sunburn Beer, or Roman Solaris Tormentum Beer. From time to time, Provolution was wondering why The Japanatican Naming Office gave him this forgotten pit of the world, maybe that could be to the past encounters with its head Epimethius? Nah, Provolution had come to terms with his hot spot, on the very edge of the Japanatican Empire facing its true continental rival, very much like El Paso or Langtry was facing Mexico in a parallell world.

Kagemusha was clearly a mans world, with heavy drinking, brothels, casinos and some of the most corrupt societies that Japanatica could offer. It was by no means perfect, life was short , brutal and hard, but living here was an excellent challenge that divided the men from the boys and the survivors to those unlucky souls who found an unmarked grave in the desert. The local court (highly corrupted) was administered by local Justice, Sheriff, bar owner,
casino administrator, mayor, local colonel, mansion owner and in general jack of all trades Provolution. Kagemusha also had a local dairy product, the Provolone Cheese and a locally applied law, The Provocation Act, where the local marshalls could provoke local troublemakers preemptively and put these in jail.
Drop guns, drop swords and so on was the order of the day, and was a harsh necessity not understood in Civilized Zarnia. Of course, Kagemusha had the Death Penalty in order to curb the local corruption.
Some local human rights groups called for help, but noone listened.

Provolution still had some moderate plans for the development of the region.

"Well, we need to fortify towards the French and Zulu border, and build a city wall, since this town is at risk, and is a pivotal center of gravity in withholding the Northern front in an eventual war. We may need one or two external fortresses and some roads that allow us to keep the region. I may suspect there are critical natural resources next by, and we are giving away tile mining rights to new leading citizens that contribute to the development of Kagemusha. We may give one or two tiles of land here to each new citizen that makes a valuable contribution to this little bordertowns development.
Living in Kagemusha is hard, it is a challenge, and this is an opportunity for those citizens looking for a real challenge. We may also see a need for irrigating and mining some of the desert, in order to get our position to our neigbors strengthened. He was the Judge Advocate. A member of the highest court of the land, with a strong future ahead of him on a young court. But then it had all gone wrong. He had gotten caught up in a messy dispute with the ruling powers that be and was obligated by an arcane law to prosecute the Emperor. Now despite being part of a democratically elected government prosecuting the highest official in the land was not a smart idea. After doing his best to lose the case the trial the president was sadly convicted. Unfortunately this left the Judge to pressure for sentencing, something that would not end up pretty. With the people of the great nation split in punishment the Judge was forced to join with his coalition and issue a punishment equal to a slap on the wrist. Thankfully the fact that the trial had been initiated by an enemy of the president and some sweet talking by the New Chief Justice kept the situation from getting to out of hand. For a time his carrear seemed safe. Then came the rest of the term. The term was marked mainly by mhcarver being on the minority end of one to many opinions and a spat with the CJ over the powers of the culture minister. Then came the nominations for the next term. The seat of public defender became wide open and the two candidates were mhcarvers former boss in the science ministry and the loveably psychotic Ravnsfire. That marked with the potential that Former Chief Justice Cyc, who had recently been critical of the court would return and challenge Gert-Janl for his seat left the Judge Advocate with a less than favorable situation. Though he appeared to face no opposition for his seat on the court Mhcarver decided to set up a backup plan in case the waste hit the fan made the trek to the border town of Kagemusha, were word had slowly trickled down that Provolution, Former minister of Foreign and Military affairs had surfaced after "dissapearing" after a dispute with the brutal epithemus, head of the Japanatican naming office. He then applied for the job as head of the local casino

Former Judge Advocate Mhcarver, you are welcome to this desert hotbed of frontier life and you knew job as director of the Casino, which you are free to name at your discretion. Kagemusha has luckily its own naming office, someone calling names at the leadership of this town will meet the hangman's noose or the revolvers of the many Kagemusha marshals.

This was the famous Japanatican Waterfate Scandal. The Waterfate Scandal was about the many conspiracies on what happened to the Japanatican Lighthouse Project in Zojoji, Provolutions former home. Provolution had invested all of his fortunes in the Lighthouse Project, where Provolution had assured with the Chief Justice and Mayor Cyc that a Lighthouse would be built, and had invested heavily into it. Provolution also had interest in the local iron mine, for which he had advocated vehemously for during the early expansion days, and made a luxurious living there. Suddenly the new Floridanian candlelight ballots some local officials introduced for the Lighthouse election was tampered with, the election offices opened too early or too late, some people were not allowed to vote and others were allowed to vote and so on, or even revote. A flock of spin doctors, lawyers, media experts, policy writers and so on came to Zojoji. Suddenly Japanatica was at war with the Viet-Rome, fearing the Domino war effect. Young swordsmen were drafted to the protest songs from Riks MIRC and from certain human rights groups. Suddenly the Great Lighthouse was not a popular project in Japanatica, the veterans was fallen from behind, now the Lighthouse was treason, yes treacherous to the establishment. Nails and other construction material of iron was dragged out of the half finished Lighthouse, the waste was tremendous. No one knew where this order came from. Did it come from the president? Did it come from the Governor, or Culture Minister, or Military Minister? No one really knew. The cover up was total. Yimmu Hoffa, the trade union boss of the Wonder Teamsters, disappeared in a horsecart driven by nobody known gangster away, and buried in the highway to Odawara. The famous journalists Bob Wayward and Black Hole had a secret source in the Waterfate Scandal, called Sleep Throat, which was a supposed lurker who knew things from the palaces of Fanatikku. However, upon his resignation, both the Court and the Vicepresident granted a general amnesty for the President who decided to not run again for President. The Waterfacte scandal was complete, with the fear of the Domino War Effect and the Viet-Rome War memories troubling the Japanatican common memory. The outcome for Provolution was clear, dead bodies of former officals, contractors, officers and others was strewn around in the trail of the Waterfate Scandal, and Provolution decided to flee to the Frontier Town of Kagemusha in order to avoid being in the Giant Spotlight of those wanting to harm Provolution in any
way, and what better place was it to live somewhere forgotten?

Mhcarver thus became the second leading Citizen of Kagemusha, the Alamo, El Paso, Las Vegas, Tombstone and Lantry of Japanatica, and founded the famous Casino (MHCARVER, bring your own Casino Name) where French, Zulu, Roman and Japanatican gamblers came to lose their gold to extreme corruption levels.

Mhcarver began to think of what to name his casino. He considered naming it after the waterfate scandal but that simply wouldn't work out. After that the name "five swords" was considered but it might annoy the many people that crossed the borders from their countries . So he pulled out his Italian dictionary google and decided to name it costituzione casino(constitution) since it was a silent joke , and sounded nice in a generally wiped out language. The ultra nationalists who would try to come down on him and Mayor provolution were many things, evil, cunning, calculating,
but smart, and bi-lingual they were not. And so he opened the ultra corrupt costituzione casino,,,,,,

This is an extremely interesting and entertaining thread. It encourages me to become more involved in the RPG. I only wish I had even a smidgen of the creativity of either of you.

One day, some riders came into Kagemusha, carrying the Japanatican Imperial Banner in their midst. The leading officer, Colonel Torimoto stepped down and saluted the old exiled General Provolution.

"My loyalty is not to the Senate, it is to the Emperor. I will serve Fanatikku and the Empire, as it is a vision, a dream of a Greater Japanatica. We cannot be untrue to our nature, we are a people of martial tradition and spirituality, and we need to remain that. I have one request, the command stays with the Army in the North, and Kagemusha will become the New Military Central Command of Japanatica, as this continents biggest competitor is France, or Gallia. However, I will now travel south and transfer the military command here. A General should stay on the Frontier, with his men, and share the hardships. Kagemusha is the most corrupt, least hospitable and the most challenging environment to be in, that is why I stay here. Now, back to the concubines at the casino, I will build some structures here."
