===========================================

The following tactics are PROHIBITED:

RoP Rape - if you have to ask...

RoP Abuse that includes things such as irrigating all tiles with a city building wonders, denying resources with a RoP, putting a unit to block a land bridge, etc.

Scout resource denial - parking a scout on a resource, as the AI won't ask scouts to leave. The same scenario also applies to workers.

False Peace Treaties (must wait for the 20 years to end).

The negative science exploit - you can run a huge deficit (-250 / turn) of negative cash with a token penalty of one lost worker / cheap building. If cash will go below zero, the research level must be dropped.

Ship chaining exploit - you can move a ship, unload troops to another ship, move that ship, etc. This allows you to ship an indefinite distance, and that is why I consider it an exploit.

Resources disconnect / connect exploit - I consider most resource tactics fine. Delaying to hook a resource, trading it away etc is fine. The exploit is to do this every turn. Build a stack of horses, connect saltpeter, upgrade to cavalry, and disconnect.

Palace Jump - You abandon the capital city to move the palace to a new location. If you want to move the palace, build a new palace.

Mass troop jumping - You can't give away a give a city to transport a large amount of troops to another land mass.

Standard LK house rules:
1) Worker automation of any kind is prohibited.
2) No worker purchases during the first 50 turns to avoid civ crippling.
3) Declaring war / demanding leave solely for the purpose of getting out of trade deals. This includes nonsense spying simply to force a war. Stealing techs is fine.
4) Even if not covered under exploits listed, please try not to use tactics that take advantage of holes in the game design.
5) Our trading reputation is golden - please respect it.
6) Complete your turn. It is frustrating to get a 1/2 completed turn.
7) Once you post a skip notice it is irrevocable.
8) If I skip a player to due a missed got it, or over due turn the turn is invalid if the next player has posted a got it.

3950 BC
Seoul is formed. The only thing of interest that is visible is some wines.

3200 BC
We meet a Russian scout. It isn't a great deal but I ship Alphabet for Pottery and $10. I start a minimum research path toward writing. Who knows with the slower science rate?

3000 BC
For being in an isolated corner I am surprised to get another contact so soon. We talk to the Hittites and no trades are possible.

2470 BC
Our nearest neighbors are the Hittites, and they have Ivory inside there borders. :(

We meet the Greeks and no trades can be made.

2310 BC
Pyongyang is formed giving us a nice choke point city.

We have found the forth Civ of Germany. All the AIs have the same set of techs. At this point I am not ready to tie of $5/turn to get warrior code. The wheel is much more important at the moment.
(IT) Russia and Germany are already at war. [dance]

2310 BC
The first new tech of iron working has shown up.

preturn:  I mean, This is a funny map.

IBT P'yongyang warrior->worker. Seoul settler->warrior.

2110BC: We can't buy Ironworking but could buy CB, but such a cheap tech won't give us much trading possibility, so I pass.

Send the settler to west.

1990BC: 3 AI know Ironworking, still cant buy. We meet Sumeria, still can't buy.

1950BC: Hitties have Writing! This is really bad, as it's behind in tech.

1870BC: Pillage Germany's road outside of its border.

1830BC: found Wonsan before Hitties get to it.

1790BC: There are two Hittie settler pairs try to trespass us. We can use a worker to block the choke next turn, or switch P'yongyang to spear.

For your pleasure:

I wouldn't argue with Burial. Our southern town is a flip risk and a temple couldn't hurt.

We know keeping to much cash = demands, so spending it can't hurt.

I got it.

The temple idea seems a good one. There are at least two squares will be claimed by the city with the higher culture (ours vs the hittite one). It might be worth trying for.

The dot map seems reasonable. My only possible chance would be to move the NEmost city one square SW. It puts it at distance 3 from the other red dot (helps with defense support) and it prevents the AI from landing a unit on the Peninsula, which would cut off our ability to get a unit into the town to defend it (other than by boat).

The drawback is we are giving up 3 sea squares and overlapping more instead.

I like the dot map as it curently stands. We are hurting for usefull land with the distance the water needs to come from. It may take a long time before that water makes our southern cities. Until then we have a limited number of productive cities and can't afford to waste any tiles.

lurker's comment:

Wouldn't the westernmost red dot be better moved one tile SE, so that the grassland and mountain tile west of Seoul don't get wasted?

Edit:  , well that's what I get for posting too late at night

Preturn: I purchase Ceremonial Burial from Sumeria for 109 gold and then I trade CB and 59 gold for Warrior Code. Not the worlds most exciting 2-fer but a 2-fer none the less.

Switch Wonsan to a temple in a long 28 turns. We will have many opportunities to change our mind...

Block the Hittites 2 settlers.

IBT: They turn around and head back. Build a spear.

1725 BC: Decide on a settler next if the AI is already trying to grab our lands...

1700 BC: Looks like I get to play games with the Hittite settlers...

1600 BC: Hittites build the Colossus.

1550 BC: Build another spear. Sumeria is building the Statue of Zeus. Found Pusan on the Red dot N of our capitol.

Notes:
Temple slowed down due to increased corruption when I settled the town. It might be worth rushing when we get to 20 shields if the Hittites haven't had a border expansion by then if they have we can do that or switch to Barracks.

Hitties might get Map Making soon, next town should go for the furs..

By looking at the map, maybe it should go to the NE spot instead, leaving no room for an AI city, unless AI settles very aggressively (but I've never seen that).

Preturn- We look good.

IT- Russia takes 22g

T1 1475

Not much. Settler due from Seoul in 5.

IT- zzz

T2 1450

Russia has also gotten writing, so we're not going to get any trading value from it when it comes in.

IT- Greece and Germany duke it out.

T3 1425

Nothing new.

IT- zzz

T4 1400

Nothing

IT- Greece boots us.

T5 1375

Not much

IT- We learn how to write and we get a settler. I set science to literature at min.

Sumeria starts the Mausoleum.

T6 1350

Nothing new. Several of the AI have Map Making, so I'm sending the settler to the Peninsula. SInce Seoul's borders expanded, this should seucre that land for us, and we can then secure the furs.

IT- zzz

T7 1325

Nothing new.

IT- zzz

T8 1300

Nothing.

IT- Greece takes 24g.

T9 1275

Not much

IT- zzz

T10 1250

Namp'o founded on the Peninsula.

Summary

I started a temple in Pyongyang to pull in the two fish. Thinking about it more, it could be swapped to a settler to ensure we grab the last city spot. The settler due out of Seoul should probably secure the furs.

I think the next player should rush the temple in Wonsan in 2 turns. The city cannot grow anyway and getting the temple first gets wins us contested the contested tiles and lowers the chance of flips (at least for a while, or they may have annoyingly just built their temple very recently of course and we lose - still worth the attempt I think.).

I think the AI might be willing to land on the furs with a settler. To be safe we could send the warrior in the capitol onto that lone square just to be absolutely safe about getting them.

We will have a total of 7 cities and the Hittites will have only 6 some of which are really shield and food poor. I think early war will make sense. They are building SoZ, but in a really bad city with only 2 shields even with a border expansion (so no point in waiting for them to build it for us).

Additionally, it will get us to fresh water. When we get to it, it will take a lot of workers to get the water home. We need to cut through swamp and jungle to do so. Building workers will be a priority.

So I think we should get our other two towns down and start preparing for war.

Here is a picture about what I mean. They have very few cities that can produce units. Only 1 city looks currently ok. They can't have a lot of units either with their capitol owning 2 wonders (we are currently weak, but if we build units I bet that will change).

Also note that these six towns is all they have.

[Edit: Urgh! Text is blurry. One town rates "decent", one town rates "good but building wonder", two rate very poor, and 2 rate decent after some irrigation.

I am guessing they currently have 2 decent towns able to build units right now. We would be able to outbuild that fairly easily.
