Well, I've finally finished my second Leaderhead a mere week after starting it. Here we have the main charachter from Final Fantasy VIII: Squall Leonhart, who also becomes commander of Garden and SeeD, as well as saves the entire world from some loopy sorceress with the help of his loyal (albeit somewhat strange) friends.

I've created a new Version of Squall that is much, MUCH closer to what he looked like in the actual game:

Awesome. How much further do you think you have for the mod to be finished?

Thanks for the compliments. This was my fastet leaderhead ever (well, once I got the figure done, that is). I also realized I have a typo with one of the town names. "Mandy Beash" should be Mandy Beach. And for the UU info, it would be the SeeD commando, replaces the TOW infantry but has increased movement and uses CamJH's Asha'Man unit graphics.

Ukas: That comment about Leonardo DiCaprio is actually kind of fitting, since most Japanese Anime, and Final Fantasy in particular, tend to have Bishounen (lit. Pretty boy) types as the main charachters/heros.

Tj: Right now, for total mod completion, I'm sitting between 40% and 60% done. I still need to totally re-work the Industrial and modern age tech trees, as well as re name them "The Age of Industry" and "The Age of Machina" respectively (the Ancient Era is called "The Age of Legend" and the Middle Ages are called "The Age of Chivalry"), I still need to do Civilopedia entries on over half of my buildings and units, I still need to fill 16 civ slots (I'll be adding three to four more civs soon), and I need to make/find replacements for about 20 LHs (As of Right now, The Kingdom of San d'Oria, Regency of Lindblum, Kingdom of Alexandria, Galbadian Republic, Garden, Kingdom of Baron, Church of Yevon, and Al Bhed Machine Faction are the only civs with leaderheads). Next up on my list for LH's will either be the Federation of Windhurst (although making the standard P5 girl figure look like a Taru-Taru is going to be a real challenge), Shinra Corporation, Ivalice, the Returners or Bastok. Since I'm having a bit of trouble deciding who should be leader of Shinra, Ivalice and the Returners, I'll be holding my own version of Election 2004

I also still need to make/find/add UU's for most of the civs. As of Right now, the only civs with a complete UU lineup are the Republic of Bastok and the Kingdom of San d'Oria. Once Kinboat's finished with his modern Legionary, Yevon's UU line will be complete, I still need to come up with a 3rd Al Bhed UU, I've only got one UU done for each of Baron, Shinra, Garden, Ordalia and Galbadia (although it's actually a placeholder until Sword of Geddon gets his Galbadian Soldier done, along with the Galbadian Officer that Muffins said he might do), I've got a couple of possible UU's for the Grand Duchy of Jueno lined up but have yet to implement them, I'll be making some requests for UUs for Windhurst sometime in the near future, for Kiltia (a civ that I'll be adding sometime soon), I'll be able to get 2 (maybe 3) UU's by re-coloring some of Kinboat's Lizardman units and calling them "Bangaa" (the Bangaa are orange lizardmen in FFT:A). Also, I've got one UU lined up for Alexandria but haven't really had time to add it with all the other work I've been doing, As for Lindblum, Dease said he'd take my request for the Nezumi dragon Knight (Freya), but it's still a ways down his list and I've got an idea of how to make the Hilda Garde III airship, but I haven't got around to making it yet (I'll most likely do that one after I get the Galbadian Iron Clad Tank done). For the Kingdom of Ivalice and Ordallia, I've also got some Ideas, and will have to spend a day scouring the unit libraries, but I'm fairly sure I can come up with at least two more UU's for each (If Reno or I win Kinboat's Lottery, I'll have Ivalice's third UU in the bag). Same goes with Estar, The Returners, and The Empire, but I've got to actually add those Civs to the game before I start worrying about UU's.

Okay, i realize that I'm not only making a giga- :bump:, but I'm doing so in my own thread. The reason is that I have mad a whole, new Squall LH and have uploaded it and posted the link and preview in the first post of this thread.

IMHO, the new version looks MUCH more like Squall... A result of my finally having built up a large enough Poser library to make almost anything.....

As I said before, looks great.:goodjob: :)

OK, I wasn't too happy with the second version of Squall (as were apperantly some of the people who downloaded him and left some rather disgruntled comments in the DB entry), but I've just recently gotten some skin textures and made a few tweaks that make him, IMO perfect. I'm quite happy with this version, though, so I won't be making any more updates.

I mean this time, his face and skin are about spot-on for what Squall looks like, and I've got rid of the oversized lower lip problem from the second version, which I think was a texture bug.....

(Not that I saw the old version for comparison, but) this new version is excellent. Being very geeky both for Civ and for Final Fantasy, I'm really a fan of your work.

[Although SeeD is an elite mercenary organization, and as such I can't help but feel Militaristic-Commercial to be the more apt trait combo. :)]

But yes, that really really does look like Squall [well, aside from the fact that he's smiling... :)]. Excellent work, dude, I'm really really excited about this.

Glad you like him... I actually have the SeeDs as Commercial, Scientific AND Seafaring, mainly because I already have at least 1 civ that's Sci, Mil and Comm, and also because the SeeDs had the White SeeD ship... As for the Scientific bit, They were the ones, after all, who figured out the whole Junctioning and Para-magic stuff, not to mention also are fairly innovative with more conventional weapons technology (i.e. the Solar powered White SeeD cruiser, the Centra shelters, combat hovercraft, etc).

... and I think I did see Squall smile at least once, but it may have been my imagination.
