Palace Swap! Prebuild vs Preservation! (Veto Poll)

While we are debating about moving the Forbidden Palace, again, we must keep in mind the shields that Odawara has stockpiled.

But right now, the Palace is being taken up by Zojoji.

The only other high shields project available right now is Wall street at En'Gha.

My personal preference is to switch Zojoji to Musketman, and have Odawara switch to Palace (36 Turns). If the FP is held to there, we can switch back with minimal loss. If no, there's always Newton's University at the start of the next Term.

On the other hand, we could put Wall Street in Odawara and have En'Gha build a palace as a pre-build for Newton's. But that would be against the WOTP as expressed in this poll.

Or we could just build the most expensive calvery in our nation.

Therefore, given the effort by both the City and the People, I hereby direct Odawara for the Palace Prebuild. However, I have been advised to poll this.

For this reason, All options besides the one I recommend are considered "Veto Options", i.e. these MUST get a Majority in order to be valid.

Vote to Transfer Zojoji's Palace to Odawara!
Odawara was the best place to build Forbidden Palace in case of no war, but we can conquer Iros so its obviously better to build Palace in Doomsville, Pisae or Veii.

Switching to Cavalry is NO option because we would waste 100+ shields in both cities and valuable time.

We need Wall Street as soon as possible and En'Gha has built it almost. Remember that we already switched Colosseum in En'Gha to build Wall Street, we should follow the plan and finish the Wall Street. Turning in other directions would mean wasting time, production and 50 gpt.

Odawara would get Newton's wonder, its nice to have especially because Odawara can produce large number of coins .

This is an outrage. Odawara won that poll fairly, and I don't see why it was swiched in the first place. We should complete the FP in Odawara on schedule. Then build wonders. But first, my palace.

In other news, Odawara has errupted into Democratic revolution. Consider this a lead in to whenever the whole country has a revolution.

Yeah, that's what I said when Veii won the poll for the FP, and some people decided to end the war so the FP wouldn't be put in Veii. So Veii's poll was the first that wasn't followed. The opportunity to place the FP in a MUCH more suitable location is at hand. We need to go with it.

Wouldn't option #1 be considered a veto as well?

How many shields does Odawara have built up? It seems that we are already well on the way to completing the Forbidden Palace there, so we should just go for it. If the requires the ceremonial move of putting a regular Palace in the build queue to honor this poll, then so be it.

Actually, there was a FP poll with a different city that one before the 2nd FP poll. It was one of the Roman cities. Like Cyc said, the WOTP didn't want war, so no FP. Talk about WOTP-Blackmail!

Either way we're breaking a poll, (both of which I supported, btw). The FP has to be built in a better place in the event of a war, period. Its been made clear that we're going to take advantage of this opprotunity one way or another.

I'd really like to vote in this poll but I guess I just don't get it. As far as I can tell from reading posts inthe forum we are not even at war with the Iroquois. If that's true, and the people don't want to declare war (which is my understanding of the current WotP) then obviously we should continue with the Forbidden Palace in Odawara. I also understand from reading forum posts that we're one turn away from completing the darn thing. Any of you ever heard that a bird inthe hand is worth two in the bush? Let the thing build and let's move on!

Now that I've explained my opinion will someone please tell me how I should vote in this poll so that my opinion is accurately conveyed to those writing turn chat instructions? If one of the options were *Don't switch Odawara* then I'd know how to vote.

That's an excellent point, donsig. I wish there were a "Keep the FP in Odawara" option, but it seems the powers that be have decided that we're going to have to move it. I feel like we are rushing into this plan of relocating the FP. I would like a little more discussion on the matter before we bring it to a poll.
