I've fell in love with and have used LPBP's Mesopotamian style graphics since I found them(I play Sumerian a lot anyway)but I've always wanted to make some tweaks(for example, the ancient age tents just didn't leave me with an impression of a large population center).
So I have combined his city style with both his "Egyptian" graphics and Red Alert's Mideast cities.
I'm not completely satisfied with the results and so would appreciate any feedback. Please be gentle...it's my first time ;) .

edit 12/28/2004: you can find an updated version of the same graphics here:

Oh, Mideast. When I first read it I thought it said Midwest. I was expecting gas stations and grocery stores.

HooDoo: thanks for the support. As for the magneta background...I'm not sure why but when I first put in that color and tried it in game, I had the city but the rest of the square was magneta, not the terrain type. When I swithced it to the green background(which is how it is in the original dowload from LPBP)and tried it in game, everything looked normal. [shrug]

I'm trying to upload the rest of the file but I get this message:

I really like your changes a lot. Only one thing ... can you change the background to magenta?

How about Periwinkle? or...or Lemon Chiffon. Ooooh.

Seriously, not bad. I think the ancient era definately needs improvements like these.

PS - There's nothin' wrong with cut and paste, it's the results that matter. :goodjob:

thank you, hidDen_eVil...I have to agree. About the only reason I made any changes to this set was because I wasn't entirely pleased with the original ancient.

and finally...the regular files. sorry it took so long.

i think they are excellent how about doing the European ones and other cultures too, great work !!!!!!!!!

Thank you, fuad. I may take a look at the European set later but right now I use MaisseArsouye's and am quite content with it. There are some VERY good modders on this site who already have posted changed graphics. I would suggest taking a look at this thread:

No problem, fuad. I'm still a novice at changing these graphics(I downloaded the free Paint Shop Pro trial period just a week or two ago)and am right now just playing around with others' dowloads.
