*** GAME CANCELLED ***

In 113 BC, Teutons and Cimbri inflicted the first of many defeats on the Romans bewteen Croatia and Austria at Noreia.

These 2 tribes endangered the Roman Empire. But Carthage, Macedonia and Persia also want a go at it !

It is a balanced and fast PBEM (only 4 human players).

It is for Conquests, using the MP version of the Rise of Rome scenario and the patch 1.22.
So you need to have both Conquests and the patch 1.22 installed on your computer.

Civs will be attributed randomly normally but you can state your prefered civ and if they don't contredict you will probably get it.

Carthage -
Celts - AI
Egypt - AI
Goths - AI
Macedonia -
Persia -
Rome -
Scythes - AI

Players : 8 (Celts, Goths, Scythes and Egypt will be played by AI)

1. Provolution
2. Loulong
3. Donovan Zoi
4. Yamamoto
5. AI
6. AI
7. AI
8. AI

You want to be in ? You have further questions ? Post in this thread (and indicate your playing time by GMT) or send me a PM. If ready to join, send me a PM with your e-mail.

When the rooster is full, I will send to all of you a planning e-mail with play order, e-mails, etc...

Organization : the game will be called "Noreia" to be recognizable and when you get the game, send a mail to inform the sender you got it (GPS = Got it, Played it, Sent it).

Hm...
I really love RoR games so I am tempted to join, in spite of being in more 5 pbems here (though I never end one yet) and some other kind of comitments outside. But since some pbems seems becomed really slow, then I may risk and add this one.

Anyway, I see you have a last slot open. If no one apears and be more needed than me to have pbem, I volunteer to that position.

Just to remember, I am in GMT hour zone, usually play at night (9pm-11:30pm), except week-ends, where I can play at a randomly hour. So if the file get to my mail, before 11:30 pm, is very probably I ´ll play it right way. Else, I only will play it 24h after.

I accept the randomly civ distribution, though, I am already playing as Persia, in another game.

Anyway, If another brave leader stepfoward, Ill be happy anyway if he take this slot, and I ll be certainly lurking around... ;)

EDIT:
I´ld say a non-raze city rule is always a fair good rule for any pbem, IMHO.

well we can make an agreement on that. I realize for all (and specially for persia at begining) that raize could be a last but preferable option, though, IMHO I would say the game becomes more competitive without a raze city... anyway we can vote:

No raize at all: 1 vote
up to 3 raizes: ...
we can raize all nation:...

Btw, is Donovan Zoi starting?

I agree, forbid raze, but allowed to raze capital, to be historical

Hmm... historical ah?...

I think i do not want to reproduce the Arbela battle here... (also known as the Battle of Gaugamela)!

And in a second thought I also dont want to reproduce the Thermopylae exactly at the same terms as it was! Though, we could count with the Ephialtes good collaboration... :cooool:

I am having some problems with my computer's Virtual Memory. Any ideas?

I replied to your email, Lou. Sorry for the delay, and I'll try to get this fixed.....

DZ

First Defrag harddisk, remove any spyware tormenting you RAM, see if you got your IRQ setups straight, use taskmanager to check out which programs that use most RAM.
Definitively run anti-virus. Worse case scenario, your RAM is old.

I have 256MB of RAM, so something is definitely up.

I have run some spyware remover and will now be defragging. I'll keep you posted.

Would it help to re-install Conquests? Memory seems to go through the roof when I run it.

Ok, here it goes my second sugestion pack: (after you done what you are doing now, defrag and so on...)

1. run AV.
You have this one:
http://pt.trendmicro-europe.com/enterprise/products/housecall_launch.php
(very good)

and also this one:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm

among others.

2. If nothing wrong is found (which I doubt, this stuff always found somthing wrong with our pc... ;) ), then start the spyware pack:

- Bazooka™ Adware,
http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/index.html?source=appupdate

- bulletproofsoft.com

- ad-aware 6.0

- spyhunter

- spybot search & destroy

- spywareblaster

- internet spyhunter

- spyware doctor

- spy sweeper (webroot)

Some are free. some dont. If any problem, please notify me, and I may have a solution to put it working for you.

Btw it stop only when launch c3c? And only when connected to web?

Of course you always a 3º option, and it is run a software like wintask and detect what file is stoping you...

Anyway, if nothing of these procedure solve the prob, then re-install civ.

Else, go get an hammer... and you know what to do.

Sorry for the delay. My ISP was down since last evening.

One possibility is your firewall.

I am not sure it is true for everybody but when I set up Multiplayer/PBEMs, C3C asks me for internet connection (Microsoft direct play and HostProcess 32) so if your firewall does not allow them it might cause the MP loading to freeze.

Anyway, I will change the civs and attribute Rome to another player as it seems the easiest solution (anyway I already play Macedonia in another PBEM (where I have my a** kicked BTW) so I don't mind changing).

Ok!
I see the game in my mail now, and i will play it first thing tomorrow morning cause is too late here and I am really tired.
Btw, I totally agree with this changed, though, I must confess, all my researchs were totally focus on a Persia Strategy... so i guess... i have to adapt to my new macedonia condition now... :undecide:

All right, I Alexender Yama, The great had make his moves, and yes, it was not the first thing he did at morning, as I wrote somewhere... :D

Though I am confused.

LL last e-mail, says that the new roster is:

- Rome : Loulong -
- Macedonia : Yamamoto -
- Persia : Provolution -
- Carthage : Donovan Zoi -
Though, in the game, the information that appears, concerning the leaders is:

For whom I should send the file?

First, please delete the mails you have written. If I do the planning phase and play order by mail it is to avoid bots finding my e-mail (and others) to avoid spam.

Second : you send the file to Provolution who is the next human player after you.
Other civs are played by the AI automatically between our turns.

Oops, OK I see what you mean...

Well, then I guess you send it to Provolution who is Carthage. Wonder why that was changed though.... ???
