These graphics represent the architecture of the Ming (1368-1644 CE) and Qing (1644-1912 CE) Dynasties. Since this period extends into the "Industrial" era of Europe, the graphics replace the Industrial Age graphics. The buildings are based on the architectural styles of the Summer Palace and the Forbidden City of Beijing, both of which embodying the pinnacle of Ming/Qing architecture. :)

I included two sets of files - One with the Ming Dynasty graphics alone and the other with the Song and Ming Dynasty graphics sets combined. :)

Culturally, Japan and China are a lot more different than most Westerners assume. Japan borrowed a lot from China, but it developed in its own unique way that makes it distinct. Chinese culture differs greatly from Japanese not only due to its long and unique history, but also its immense diversity. Korean culture is unique as well. Think of them as three different plants in the same garden. ;)

Of course, since Civ3 allows for only 5 culture groups (obviously a very poor development choice on the part of Firaxis), you probably might have to bunch Japan, Korea, and China together.

Very nice graphics, but you should change them to civcolours sometime ;)

I'm still not sure exactly how to do that. :)

There was a transparency error in the old files. :crazyeye: I had them fixed in the new files. Everything should appear correctly now.

A big thanks to Varwnos for pointing that out. :)

Here's an in-game preview:
