SADETO Charter:
Article 1. The Organisation SADETO is a political and economic alliance formed by its members with a goal to strengthen its members economically and militarily. Member nations work towards common goals benefiting the whole of the alliance. The alliance generally offers protection to its members from any form of attacks of non-members be in conventional, nuclear or in form of partisan, political or economic warfare. The alliance mediates and resolves crisis situations between members if necessary by using force. SADETO acts as a unified voice of its members on the world stage.
Article 2. Membership
a) Types of membership
Full Alliance membership is limited to South American and Latin American nations.
Overseas membership is granted to world nations willing to be active members of the alliance, however not located in Latin America. Overseas members have full member privileges, except they cannot be elected leaders of the alliance. Nor are they granted automatic membership in the military alliance.
Protectorate membership is granted to nations applying for this type of membership. Protectorate members do not have any votes in the General Assembly or the military alliance and cannot be elected head of SADETO. Protectorate members however benefit from all SADETO institutions and activities, including military protection.
b) Application for Membership
Any state in the world can apply to be a part of the Alliance. An applicant-state must ask a member-state to recommend it before the general assembly of SADETO. Unless more than 50% of members are against the applicant the state is granted membership. Membership is granted to an extent it is possible considering the applicants condition.
c) Leaving the Alliance
c1) If a member state is expelled from the alliance or wishes to quit it must go through a certain procedure. Failure to comply with these rules can cause any reaction from the Alliance including a declaration of war.
c2) The leaving state must go through 5 year period of re-adjustment during which it will disassociate itself with the Alliance. The steps include the breaking of all functioning alliance institutions including military, intelligence, economic, social or science Alliance institutions.
c3) A state could reverse the break up process in 3 years since its beginning.
Article 3. Leadership
a) The alliance is headed by a Leader state that reserves the right to speak for the whole alliance on the world stage and internally when dealing with individual members. The Leader coordinates the Alliance activities during war and has the right to veto any proposal unless all members are unanimously in favour. Leader-state reserves the right to adjust the Organisational Charter after more than 50% of states have agreed to the proposed amendments.
b) The alliance leader is elected by a simple majority every 10 years or when all members of the alliance, but the current leader, ask for a re-election. A re-election could be proposed not more than once in 10 year Leadership period.
Article 4. Military Alliance Membership
a) SADETO military alliance is known as SADETO Militares or SM (SADETO Military).
b) All full members of the SADETO automatically become members of the SADETO Military Alliance unless the Leader-state postpones their membership.
Article 5. Members Obligations
a) All members agree to share any technology with its alliance members free of charge, excluding military technology.
b) Members are expected to contribute a part of their income into alliance projects and development projects.
c) Members are expected to offer full support to SADETO Military (SA)
d) Full members are expected to work towards integration in all fields of activity.
e) All agreements signed by SADETO must be fulfilled by its members.
f) By applying members sign a non-aggression pact with all states party to the Organisation.
Article 6. Alliance Obligations
a) The alliance offers protection to all of its members from any form of attacks of non-members be in conventional, nuclear or in form of partisan, political or economic warfare.
b) Alliance acts as a body representing all of its members on the international scene in the best interest of the member states.
c) Alliance offers programs of development to its least developed or Protectorate-status members.

1. SADETO South American Defence and Economic Treaty Organisation is also known as SADETA - South American Defence and Economic Treaty Alliance and is referred to in this document as SADETO, SADETA, Organisation or the Alliance.
2. Sudamericana Organizacão de Defesa y Tratado Económica (SODTE) is the Espano-Portugese term used.
SADETO Goals and Common Policies:
SADETO defines these new areas of development and goals:
- Further integration of structures of full members
- More active role on the international stage involving helping poor developed nations
- Further economic, social and technological development of member states
- Significant improvement in the speed of seabed and space exploration
- Stay on par with top world powers in terms of military and military technology
SADETO Members: Argentina, Brazil (Leader), Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela
