Still breathing
Here is the thread for our AA spoiler from the 3 teams. I wasn't sure if everyone has a full world map so I have not posted a pic. If everyone does feel free to post a pic and I'll edit my writeup.
Gyathaar has been nice enough to do an AA comparison graph for us, showing our progress to our 100K goal. Thanks, Gyathaar
Spoiler 1 for Gator01 Team A
We start by founding in place and discover that we have no fresh water source near us. We meet Russia in 3400BC, Persia in 2950BC and Germany the following turn, which kicks off our first session of tech trading. 2470BC sees our first settler. We have decided on a tight build pattern since there is no reason to expect our cities to become large without fresh water. We found our second city in 2350BC.
Lady luck smiles on us briefly as we pop a settler from a hut way to the south in 2270BC, unfortunately it will take close to 20 turns to walk the settler back to our core and to make matters worse there is no fresh water in this area either. We found Grand River in 2100BC and Allegheny in 1950BC. We discover Alphabet in 1870BC and trade it for the Wheel. Our southern settler founds Cattaraugus in 1830BC. The year 1750BC brings us knowledge of Egypt, HBR, MYST and MAS.
Germany declares war on us in 1575BC after we refuse a demand for gold. We met Japan in 1550BC and acquire WRIT and IW in trades and discover that we have no iron to go with no water. Alan does a nice bit of trading in 1250BC to acquire contact with Rome and England, along with acquiring world maps, MATH, PHIL and COL. From here we continue to build cities and acquire techs, neither at a blistering pace.
We are still at war with GER (from the earlier declaration) and are finally seeing troops in waves coming at us during the 700 to 510BC which is when Leif does a nice trade session and gains us CONST, CURR, POLY and LIT, which puts us into the Middle Ages.
We enter the MA (used 550BC save for numbers) with 9 cities (only 3 of these have temples), 360 total culture points and 10cpt. We are trailing everyone except Russia in total culture. We have a lot of work to do.
