Woner graphics: South Gate from FF IX (Fantasy style Great Wall)

Well, I can finally say that the ancient era tech tree is now complete for the Final Fantasy mod. This was the only wonder for which I didn't have permanent graphics (the Temple of the Goddess in Jueno is so similar to the Temple of Artemis that I didn't bother changing it) made for.

South (and North) gates were used to defend the border between Alexandria and Lindblum throughout the various wars those two countries fought against each other, and were built in the only passes through an otherwise impenetrable mountain range (okay, there was a "back pasage" through Gizamaluke's Grotto, but any invading forces through there would have to deal with the dreaded Burmecian Dragon Knights as well as the guardian of the grotto, Gizamaluke himself (some large manta ray type monster)).

I showed it with both doors partly open. It's operated by a massive Mist engine (that foggy looking stuff in the valley is Mist, and responsible for spawning all the roaming monsters found on Gaia (FF IX world), but it's also useful as an energy source). To give you an idea of the sheer size of that thing, you could fly two Hindenburgs through side by side.... As for who controlls it, South Gate was built on Lindblums side of the border, just south of the Alexandrian town of Treno, so the Regency of Lindblum controls it. North Gate (which is identical in appearance and operation) was built on the Alexandria side of the Border just North of the Lindblum town of Burmecia, and was controlled by Alexandria. That way, if one nation tried to invade through their gate, then the other country would invade through theirs.... Treno and Burmecia would act as early warnings of such invasions to their countries (as what actually happened in FF IX when Queen Brahe (Garnet's mother) invaded Burmecia through North Gate, and a Burmecian Messanger manages to get word to Regent Cid about the invasion).

Ok, I know it's considered bad form to bump threads that have been inactive for over 3 years, however, when I tracked this thread down to add it to my graphics library, I thought to myself, "You know, I could probably make that look a bit better and add the new version to the downloads database."

Which is precisely what I did. The old version has been deleted, and the new version is now added to the database and posted in the first post of this thread. Additionally, this thread is now linked to my graphics library.
