Marsh with Heron and Keep Out

This is something I did about a year and a half ago. I thought that it was kind of silly, so I never posted it. I am finding that tastes vary quite widely, so I'm posting it.

I have added a Heron (bird) that Colonel Kraken had made and a Keep Out sign I made to Snoopy's marsh (Snoopy's standard terrain). They show up quite randomly, you may not see them at all in some games.

Goes in:

C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\Art\Terrain

Don't forget to backup original.

the preview shows up as an x

moreover: i consider myself tricked! I waited to see Heron the Centaur. He would be able to kep someone out from his marsh

It shows up ok when I view the thread, does anybody else not see it.

What is scale in this game, when the units are as big as cities. If I made them to the same scale as the trees then you would not be able to see the bird or read the sign.

I'm just posting some old work here, don't think I will be making any changes to this one.

The graphics of Civ have a cartoonish feeling so i think it fits real nicely

Yes it shows now, perhaps my connection at the time wasnt working properly. I like the marsh, the Heron looks like it has flown its last trip though

It is a compilation of several peoples work, I only assembled the pieces for this version, there are several other compilations on these forums by various authors.

I like the "keep out" sign, it's funny

About those resources which show the increase in production (small shields, food and commerce symbols).
I can think of two reasons why that it's not a very good idea:
- if you change the bonuses in the editor, you have to change those icons too
- I think that the map becomes cluttered, and frankly those coins, shields and floursacks look silly on the map :mischief:
